Houston Retail Posted August 30, 2004 Share Posted August 30, 2004 On September 1 METRO will hold two public hearings regarding service changes scheduled to begin October 2, 2004. Pertinent to downtown is changing downtown trolley service to 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The public hearings on Wednesday, 9/1/04, at noon and 6 p.m. in their 16th Floor Board Room at 1201 Louisiana--downtown at Dallas and Louisiana. We have posted information received from METRO at http://www.downtownstreets.com/trolley.htm. This information provides details and data that helped METRO arrive at the current proposed changes in their service area. One of the files includes a list of the 34 segments proposed to be discontinued in October. The Downtown District and Central Houston, Inc. have prepared an internet-based survey to gather information about your use of the trolley system. The results of this survey will assist the Downtown District and Central Houston in recommendations to METRO on proposed decreases in trolley service. The survey was devised and is being conducted independent of METRO. Please do not think of this survey as a replacement for attending the public hearings to express your opinion.
