A rehash story in the Houston Chronicle about the building that never got built.

"A monumental change was proposed for Houston's skyline when developers announced plans for an 82-story tower on a block bounded by Walker, Milam, McKinney and Louisiana."

"The building, estimated to cost up to $400 million in 1982 dollars, was being developed by Southwest Bancshares and Century Development Corp. A planned 140-foot spire would have made the 1,400-foot building 100 stories tall, eclipsing the nearby 75-story Texas Commerce Tower."
