It also provides a place to post future updates about this property if and when it's redeveloped An archive link of thethread before its deletion is coming. 5111 Washington Ave is "where Coast Eatery + Bar both opened and closed this year. CrockpotandGravel
This was originally posted November 18, 2017 in the previous thread for 5111 Washington Avenue. It's being reposted / reupped since the original thread and other content from me were removed. From Swamplot: A fourth Candy Shack Daiquiris To Go is planning to open next year on Washington Ave, just 2-and-a-half blocks to the west of the existing W Grill Margaritas To Go drive-thru at Washington and Durham. Candy Shack is slated to take over the property at 5111 Washington Ave (pictured above), where Coast Eatery + Bar both opened and closed this year. (The property was listed for lease in August.) Before Coast’s tenure, the space was occupied by itinerant Mexican-food joint Taqueria La Macro. There’s much more than just a drive-thru going into this location, however: The Washington Ave Candy Shack will include a bar, for drinkers not speeding off to their next appointment. http://swamplot.com/washington-aves-new-drive-thru-daiquiri-spot-just-down-the-street-from-the-drive-thru-margaritas/2017-11-03/
CrockpotandGravel
From June 4, 2018 Candy Shack opened recently on Washington Ave. It's a NOLA-style drive-thru "daiquiri" shop. From Eater Houston: Houston loves its boozy drive-thrus, and now the city has another outpost of Candy Shack Daiquiris, which serves up booze-filled slushes topped with gummy candy for Houstonians on the go. The boozy drive-thru chain already counts three area locations, and over the weekend welcomed its newest outpost at 5111 Washington Ave. The shop offers a dozen classic daiquiri flavors like piña colada and hurricane that customers can order in giant to-go cups or fish-bowl sized servings, plus it has another dozen alcohol-fueled options under the “mixology” category like caramel apple or peaches ‘n’ cream. https://houston.eater.com/2018/6/4/17425670/candy-shack-daiquiris-opens-washington-avenue
