Guest Plastic
DOes anybody know about that Katy project that was supposed to go p on the freeway across from Katy Mills Mall. Some sort of a village it would combine entertainment, shoping, and offices. It would be based on an outdoor setting.

eelimon
According to the web site the Village at Katy is strategically located 29 miles west of Houston on I-10, between US 90 and Pin Oak Road. Across from the Katy Mills Mall. The Village at Katy has been master planned to integrate the various aspects of life and force creative intersections between them. Life is simplified by pedestrian and vehicular access to all points of the development. http://www.thevillageatkaty.com/ http://www.hermesarchitects.com/homepage.html

eelimon
Strategically huh?I think what they mean is that Houston is developing mostly in a westward direction and this would place them in a middle of all that sprawl. Much like what happened to the Galleria.

Guest Plastic
They still gonna build that project out Katy next to Katy Mills Mall?It supposed to be this big outdoor village with shopping, office buildings, and residences. I think there is even supposed to be a hospital. There's grass, diffferent buildings, and big pond. It's supposed to open in 2008 or so. BetaJustin
I visited the Hines website (The developer) and there was some updated information. It says that construction of the infrastructure will begin in late 2006 or early 2007. The website is here: Hines
gmac
This is going to be a huge warehouse, it looks like. Across I-10 from Katy Mills Mall. http://www.villageatkaty.com/siteplan.php https://www.chron.com/neighborhood/katy/news/article/American-Furniture-Warehouse-pushes-back-Katy-13671120.php
gmac
Structure is so large now I couldn't fit it all in the shot. Mindboggling how large these warehouse stores are. Will try and get some shots from the other side closest to I-10.
