Site work has started on the 1.4 million-square-foot office campus, which will house almost 6,000 workers for the banking and financial services firm when it opens next year. Quote “Everything is on schedule,” said Chase spokesman Greg Hassell. “We aren’t planning a big groundbreaking event.” The first phase of Chase’s project will include three office buildings and two parking garages, said KDC president Toby Grove. “People will be in the first building in the fall of 2017,” Grove said. “It’s a tough scheduled but doable.” Quote With the Chase work starting, Legacy West now has more office space being built in one place than anyplace in the Southwest — more than 4 million square feet. The start of the project is a “great milestone,” said Legacy West developer Fehmi Karahan. “By the end of 2017 you will see a totally different skyline.” Along with Chase, Liberty Mutual is building almost 1 million square feet in two towers on the west side of the tollway at Headquarters Drive. Quote And developer Gaedeke Group is building an almost 327,000 square-foot office building — One Legacy West — just west of the Chase campus. Within two years, more than 15,000 people will be working in the Legacy West project, making it one of the largest new job centers in the state. Sic'EmBears Posted June 3, 2016 Share Posted June 3, 2016 Transit-oriented apartment project to be built in downtown Carrollton Steve Brown June 3, 2016 Quote Now Stoneleigh has tied up a building site next to downtown Carrollton’s DART commuter rail station for another apartment development. “It’s going to be 230 apartments right at the corner of Belt Line and Interstate 35,” Stoneleigh CEO Rick Cavenaugh said. “It’s a no-brainer – you step out the front door and you walk right next door to the DART station.” The 4-acre site is vacant and controlled by Realty Capital of Arlington. Cavenaugh said Stoneleigh has formed a partnership with the owner to build a 4-story rental community on the land. “We are going to try and start construction by the first of the year,” he said. Quote Stoneleigh’s project will be the second urban-style apartment community developed adjacent to the downtown Carrollton DART stop. Central Expressway is being developed as part of a joint venture between Transwestern Development and Dallas-based Malouf Interests. Quote Plans for the building include floor-to-ceiling glass with 10-foot ceiling heights, a premium deli and lounge area, fitness center, a 40,000-square-foot exterior courtyard, and a five parking spaces per 1,000 square feet within a parking garage. "There has been tremendous interest in and around the CityLine project, and we are excited to see a company like Transwestern Development Co. attracted to the neighborhood to build a Class A commercial office," said Mayor Paul Voelker, in a prepared statement. Quote The innovative electric auto manufacture is planning a new showroom in the middle of the Legacy West Urban Village retail district on Windrose Avenue, according to documents filed with the Plano planning department. Legacy West seeking approval for a “new automobile dealer” specific use permit for the planned Tesla showroom on the east side of Windrose Avenue. Quote Tesla recently opened a large Dallas showroom and service center near the southeast corner of Cedar Springs Road and Mockingbird Lane near the entrance of Love Field. The luxury car manufacturer also has a showroom at Dallas’ NorthPark Center mall. And Tesla has another facility in Carrollton. Quote The multi-phase solar installation project will start with two parking garages on the campus, with the installation of enough solar panels to generate roughly 2.45 megawatts per garage. The solar panels are expected to come online by August 2017. The final installation will be located on the third parking garage, which will generate roughly 2.83 megawatts and is slated for completion in December 2017. Quote In all, the Plano solar system is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 7112 metric tons, or the equivalent of the electricity used in nearly 1,000 homes a year. The shopping center is adding space for 30 more stores and has purchased 22 acres adjoining acres to add additional parking and pads for restaurants and a hotel. The plan is to first add 1,300 new parking spaces on the new land north of the property before it starts construction of new stores in the interior of the center. About 122,000 additional square feet of retail space will be built in the middle of the center next to the existing Neiman Marcus Last Call. Quote The first phase of the expansion is expected to be completed next spring and the interior new stores by fall of 2017, said Danielle De Vita, executive vice president real estate for Simon Premium Outlets. Quote Allen Premium Outlets is 100 percent leased and doing very well, De Vita said without disclosing sales figures. The company, Santa Paula, California-based Hely & Weber, has signed a lease totaling nearly 40,000 square feet of space at 755 Regent Blvd. in Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The company plans to move into the new facility, which nearly triples its previous footprint, this fall. Quote "Increasing the size of the Ohio facility was not the most business reasonable option because we wanted to give more of our customers three-day shipping, so we decided to put our new distribution center in Dallas, where 70 percent of our customers will have access to three-day shipping," he added. The almost 150,000-square-foot project will be constructed on part of a 9-acre site east of the Dallas North Tollway on Pinecrest Drive that T5 and Lincoln bought from Southern Methodist University. Quote “We’ve had a lot of success with our initial project there – one of the largest data centers in North Texas,” said T5 president Pete Marin. Quote Marin said construction will start on the next project in Plano in August. Quote “You’re going to see it grow daily now,” said Noah Lazes, president of Ark Group development. Quote “People will truly be able to work, live and play in Las Colinas,” said Lazes, who founded Ark with his father, Rick Lazes. Quote Rainy weather and seesaw politics slowed the start of the project, but the center is on track for a late summer 2017 opening, Noah Lazes said. Quote The Music Factory will include a LiveNation concert venue that will seat 7,000, and a dining movie theater by Alamo Drafthouse. Leases are full for the 100,000-square-foot office tower, while leases for beverage and food spaces are at 90 percent, Noah said. The planned hotel complex will be part of the $1 billion Frisco Station project at the Dallas North Tollway and Warren Parkway. The 242-acre mixed-use development wraps around the Dallas Cowboys' new Star headquarters complex. Quote The hotel campus will be the first phase of a mixed-use retail, office and entertainment center Frisco Station is calling The Hub. "It not only energizes our whole mixed-use program but it also plays very well off what is happening next door at the Star," said Hillwood Properties president Mike Berry. "This project at Frisco Station will deliver a wide variety of new hotel rooms." Quote The planned hotel complex will include a Marriott AC Hotel and Residence Inn, and a Canopy Hotel by Hilton and Hyatt Place Hotels. For the last decade, city leaders have worked to persuade Collin College officials to open a campus in the booming suburb east of Plano. Quote The college plans to build its eighth campus on roughly 43 acres donated by the city. The Wylie City Council formally approved the donation Tuesday night. In 2015, the Collin County Appraisal District valued the property at more than $1.4 million. Quote College leaders plan to break ground in three years. Scheduled to open in 2020 north of Wylie High School and across the street from the city's municipal complex on Country Club Road, the three-building, 360,000-square-foot campus will be large enough to serve 7,500 students. Quote The Wylie campus is the college's fourth major location and will offer core courses, along with specialty classes yet to be determined. Quote Collin County's population of roughly more than 914,000 is estimated to more than double by 2040. The growth means a larger demand for higher education, Hogue said. "For the college, we're trying to make sure we're prepared to serve a large population," district president Neil Matkin said. The Wylie location will relieve overcrowding at the college's Spring Creek Campus in Plano. There, about 25 percent of students live in Wylie and Sachse. Davis Development has planned a 580,000-square-foot building that will wrap around the property and envelop a three-deck, 218,360-square-foot parking garage with 802 parking spaces on the 10.5-acre property. The apartment complex will consist of 445 total units, 236 of which are one-bedroom, 187 to be two-bedroom, and 22 units will be three-bedroom. Apartments will be accessed internally from the parking garage via climate-controlled corridors. Quote The apartments average 944 square feet in size, larger than the 500 square feet required for apartment units by multi-family zoning, Bass said. Almost two acres of land will be dedicated to open space with decorative paving areas along the fire lane. The area will include amenities such as tree wells and outdoor furniture. As first reported by D Magazine, Cinépolis, which has a global base in Morelia, Mexico, relocated its American operations from Los Angeles to 5,040 square feet at 14951 Dallas Parkway on June 14.
