editor Posted August 8, 2005 Share Posted August 8, 2005 Fall Golf Tournament to Benefit Missing Children's OrganizationGabriel's Gifts Missing Children's Organization, which is the coordinator of Houston's Regional Amber Alert program, will hold its first Annual Charity Golf Tournament this fall. Beth Alberts, CEO of Gabriel's Gifts Missing Children's Organization and Director of the Houston Regional Amber Plan, made the announcement. The event, scheduled for Monday, October 17, 2005, will be held at Wildcat Golf Club located at One Wildcat Drive off the South Loop in Houston. Registration will be at 11:00 a.m. with the Shotgun Start starting at 12:30 p.m. Format will be a four person team scramble. Team sponsorships start at $500 per foursome; individual golfers may sign up at $100 per person. All proceeds will go towards missing child prevention, collaborative search efforts and education programs for both the public and law enforcement officials. An awards dinner will follow the tournament."Tens of thousands of children go missing in the United States each year," Alberts says, "including 300 to 500 children who are victims of stranger abduction. More than 100 of these children are murdered."A non profit organization, Gabriel's Gifts Missing Children's Organization was formed in 2000 to provide support for families and volunteers searching for their missing loved ones. "Our priority is keeping kids safe and to assist in the prevention and location of missing kids," Alberts explains.
