Slick Vik
Just listened to an excellent episode of This American Life (http://www.thisamericanlife.org/radio-archives/episode/512/house-rules), talking about how the fair housing act hasn't been enforced since George Romney 40 years ago. I have been reading some developments about how it may be strengthened soon: "In July, HUD issued a proposed regulation that for the first time clearly defined the steps local and state governments that receive HUD funding must take to examine housing segregation based on race and show they are in line with the Fair Housing Act, requiring communities to “affirmatively further” residential integration. If this gets passed, how would this affect development in Houston?
