Chi-Char-Hou-Dal
A couple weeks ago, near the corner of Webster and Baldwin caved in, there was a 5' hole in the street, maybe effects of the draught. Anyway, the city was out to fix it pretty quick. Ever since then, there has been a horrible egg smell in that area that is bad.Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this smell. Kind of a frivolous post but thought I would see if anyone could shed some light on what it might be.Got stuck there this morning and you could smell it in car with windows rolled up. Can't be good for the Post residents right there.
Nole23
Yea I live in Post near CoCo, I can't smell it at my apartment but everytime I pass by that area it smells horrible. I also smell it at Bagby and Webster as well.
rsb320
It's probably sewer gas. Haven't they started construction on Bagby? They've probably disturbed some lines while they're replacing them.

brian0123
All of you should call 311 and report it. I haven't smelled it but if it's something uncommon, the city needs to hear about it.
TonyM
I always smell random sewer gasses in different areas of midtown. I think a lot of it is due to construction and disturbing of existing lines and some of it is probably due to deterioration of old lines.Strength and area of smell tends to depend on which way the wind is blowing that day, temp, humidity, etc.
