Muralpainter
While on my weekend ride I found Woodtrace hiding in the woods. Seems like a nice place on a lake, great location, and all the road & utility development is in place. Does not appear to be in a flood plain or have other problems.http://maps.google.c...+Texas&t=h&z=17What is the story behind Woodtrace? One would think a developer would snap up the plots and finish it off.
Muralpainter
What is the story behind Woodtrace? One would think a developer would snap up the plots and finish it off.Correction: One would think a builder would snap up the plots and finish it off. The neighborhood is already developed. infinite_jim
I believe that's actually Pinehurst, TX, but I could be wrong.

Muralpainter
From the Chron article:Plans for the first phase of Wood Trace call for 580 acres of residential development on the west side of Texas 249 and an 18-hole golf course on the east side of the freeway. The golf course will open in 1992. Construction on road and utilities will begin in 1991.If you view the aerial photo you can make out interconnected clearings that are consistent with the layout of the golf course.Additionally…zoom in to the section where 249 turns west to 149, and Google has mapped a section of the planned Aggie Toll Expressway.http://maps.google.com/maps?q=tomball+tx&hl=en&ll=30.170731,-95.675565&spn=0.007318,0.009645&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=54.269804,79.013672&vpsrc=6&hnear=Tomball,+Harris,+Texas&t=h&z=

westsurfboards
I looked into this development back in 2007-8 as I was building in Bentwater. good property, did see gators in the lake (pond). The group in charge was land trust company with an office located near Beltway-8 and Westhemier , they were keen to development, but as mortgage crisis came into play in late 2008, starting a run of housing was dead in the dirt for all builders. I did ask why the bigger builders never jump on it, they said the cost of the lot was a turn off to big box brands . the image below was the style of housing I proposed , Design by myself and engineered by Interfield, Houston, Home located in Bentwater, Tx.
