editor Posted August 3, 2011 Share Posted August 3, 2011 Houston Fire Department Responds to Fire in Downtown High-RiseThe Houston Fire Department was dispatched to a fire in a 21-story high-rise building at 801 Travis just after 8 a.m. this morning, August 3, 2011. Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes. A hydraulic elevator motor in the basement overheated and caused the fluid to smoke. The smoke was removed and repairs began on the elevator. About 40 firefighters responded to the fire which was tapped out within 30 minutes. There were no reported injuries. The incident caused approximately $12 thousand in damage.
