Lowbrow
A friend of mine just opened a Vino 100 franchise out on Westheimer behind the PF Changs in Westchase (11693 Westheimer). I went last night and had a blast. They always have 7 or 8 open bottles for tastings and they are very liberal about opening more bottles where interests lie. Its an interesting concept. You can taste wine, drink wine and purchase wine. They also have a nice humidor and carry some cheeses and pates and stuff for the palette between drinking. Check out the website. They have many more branches coming to Texas, mainly Austin and Dallas. http://www.vino100.com/index.html Ps. It is very inexpensive. Most of the bottles we had last night were $8-12. They seem to pride themselves in hard to find, good wines for under $25. No Yellowtail or Penfolds, etc.
texasdago
Sounds a bit like Best Cellars in Uptown although I think they have something like 100 wines for under $15.00. I'll have to run by, though.
