dalparadise Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Two things I get from this:1. The difference between 1 and 20 is not that great. Most people can affect their credit score 20-40 points if they need to (for a loan, or something). So, this ranking seems fairly insignificant.2. That said, despite all the claims of wealth and who has more of it (on both ends of 45, I should add) the two big Texas cities once again show how statistically similar they are. This survey is probably a better measure of attitude, maturity, materialism, attitudes toward saving and responsibility than it is a measure of a more quantifiable financial statistic. I think, seen in this light, the survey is quite illuminating with regard to the two Texas cities. Quote
Lowbrow Posted April 21, 2005 Author Posted April 21, 2005 I think this list would match up pretty closely with a listing by age of the city. I personally think that the older cities have a tendency to have a larger stable population of people living more within their means. Quote

There's a garage apartment next door to me where the guy and his family with the primo truck with hydraulics just moved out of (thank God, the guy loved to pump his compressor day and night) and now a new guy moved in, and drives a late model BMW. If the babes only knew he goes home to a 600 sq ft garage apt...I think it's partially a racial/demographic thing, plus more lower income folks tend to screw up their credit as they have less of a cushion.
