jscarbor
My water heater pan has standing water in it. Is there a common problem regarding this that can be fixed?
BryanS
No. Cannot be fixed. Your water heater is failing. You might be surprised to find 40 gallons of hot water on your floor... when you're not there.Replace the water heater, ASAP....or maybe there is a lose water feed connection... check that... but sounds like you need to replace it. ASAP.

jscarbor
Its a 1998 tank.It looks like a small amount of water is coming from the top of the unit at the what I believe to be the pressure relief valve.

flipper
piece of cake. pick up some new 18" or 24" copper water flex lines to make your life easy. don't put the old WH at the curb unless you want to take a chance at the COH getting involved.flipper
jscarbor
new water heater. It wasn't the PRV...we cleaned it up and felt insulation and that is where it is leaking...inside the tank.
