20thStDad
Anyone going to participate in the regatta this year? We're not going to be in the water but were planning on checking out the finish line festivities. Has anyone done it before? Is it a good time, worth checking out?Next Saturday, March 7.http://www.buffalobayou.org/regattabayou.html

It's not even worth hauling out the boat....maybe if they put in at Highway 6 and went to Brady's Island, but this is just pathetic.

Well, the contestants on The Great Houston Raise show (Ch. 11) sure were winded after only going from Brenner's to the Aquarium. But then again, they weren't all studly like TheNiche. You show me a sprinter and I'll show you someone with a high tolerance for pain who knows how to control rhythm and balance, regulate breathing, and that makes every exhaustive stroke count. SecondTour
I came in 3rd in the Boy Scout entries\division of the 1979 Buffalo Bayou Regatta. I enjoyed it. The city, particularly the view of it from the bayou, sure has changed since then. Edited March 1, 2009 by SecondTour
