AlexTx
It seems like the schools zoned to the Heights are not rated high. What do those of you with kids do or plan to do? Are there options short of 10K/ year private school? Would you say the Heights is a good place to raise kids?

Would you say the Heights is a good place to raise kids? Most of the kids on our block, we are zoned to harvard, go to private school. There is one kid that goes to river oaks elementary and one that goes to poe. I am not really sure how they do that. I heard that travis in woodlands heights is a great school. goastros
We haven't started school yet but my neighbor's son goes to the Montessori program at Garden Oaks. You can ask to go to any school in HISD as long as they have room. My son is in daycare right now and I'm paying more than $10K a year so if I can find a private school I like in the area, I will actually get a reduction in tuition if it only costs me $10K a year for him to attend.
