Barbour's Cut and Bayport have each spurred many millions of square feet of new off-site distribution warehouses in the La Porte, Baytown, and Deer Park areas. Where will these go to efficiently serve a container terminal on Pelican Island?

Moreover, it is curious that the City of Galveston would be so willing to allow an increase in truck traffic along Harborside Dr. The worst road in the whole of the Houston area serves Barbour's Cut, and they're having to rebuild it with much thicker concrete.
