Zarec
I am trying to locate a bibliography of books about the history of Houston. Any suggestions?
Vertigo58
Any given book store will have a whole section on the subject. Now if you want extemely rare postcards/pics rummage at local salvage or old beat up antique mom/pop places. Not the fancy lower Westheimer shops either the off the beaten path places. Same goes for old turn of the century Galvez. Don't forget to meet and learn stories from the older generations, they are living history my friend. FilioScotia
I am trying to locate a bibliography of books about the history of Houston. Any suggestions?Yes. Get yourself downtown to the Houston Heritage Society, and its library of "all things Houston." This small library has just about everything worthwhile ever written about Houston. Here's a link. http://www.heritagesociety.org/untitled3.htmlYou also might check out the Houston History stacks at the Houston Public Library, just a block from the Heritage Society.
