amoxill Posted February 26, 2008 Share Posted February 26, 2008 ok guys,i picked up a handful of business cards from olshan's community bulletin board for a sheetrock job i'm trying to get estimates on. after a week of calling, cajoling, pleading, i have yet to even get someone to come look at the site. flakiness, apparently, is the standard.so...anyone out there have a referral for me? i have a 1400 sqft bungalow that we need taped and floated asap...help! mpbro Posted March 6, 2008 Share Posted March 6, 2008 There's a good supply of drywallers from Mexico, as it seems to be one of the major construction trades (lots of stucco!). If you're willing to work with a "non-traditional" contractor, I suspect you'd get good work at a reasonable cost.You could always do it yourself--it's fairly simple work, though one of my least favorite of the trades. I put up an interior wall about 15 feet in length and did the drywall on both sides over a day or two (lots of waiting for the stuff to dry).
