pookrat
Football is on it's way back! The paper reported that 79% voted for teh increase per semester hour. Should be an interesting few years for Lamar now. Something to watch.

Retama
Drove by the stadium today, they were doing work on the pressbox. I might drive over for a game when they get things rolling.
UNLV
Drove by the stadium today, they were doing work on the pressbox. I might drive over for a game when they get things rolling. What you saw was the old pressboxes being rebuilt as a result of damage caused by Rita. The repairs are temporary because Ozen High school is still usingthat stadium. Lamar has yet to release stadium plans for Lamar football. We don't know if the same stadium will be used or a new stadium in a different location. There was mentioned of a new press box, private suites, turf, video board, and possible horseshoe stadium. Rumors are out that private donations are well above8 figures. We should know in the next few months. The coaching search posted ended March 21st. A few rumored names; RC Slocum, Barry Switzer, and former University of Miami National Championship coach Larry Coker.

I wouldn't want Barry Switzer to even drive by the campus! Thanks for the info about the pressbox.
pookrat
RC has some ties to the area so I wouldn't think that is too far fetched.
