Eighteen Hundred will be one of many new developments, including the Pearl Brewery redevelopment, for the now established Pearl District. Location: Edited December 28, 2007 by kingwilliam Quote
WarHorse Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Where exactly is this development, near the brewery on Broadway? Quote
kingwilliam Posted December 28, 2007 Author Posted December 28, 2007 Yes, this will be just east of the Pearl. Quote
WarHorse Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 Ah, first I've heard of this development going in. Good to hear though, that side of 281 needs a good scrubbing. I also heard that the partial buildings which the guy ran outta money have been bought. Wonder if they'll complete the place now, or just start from scratch. All we need now is to get Samuel's Glass and Texas Towing out of the area. Quote
kingwilliam Posted December 31, 2007 Author Posted December 31, 2007 Update: The Fox Photo building was demolished yesterday and the Snow White Cleaners is schedule for demolition on January 7th. Quote
WarHorse Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Fox Photo? Wow, so that place did have a name. I saw that building coming down over the past week. While it's sad to see old places go, it's better to loose them then have them sit run down and no chance of repair. It's good to see that strip of Broadway getting some attention. Hopefully they'll eventually get around to doing something with the old ButterKrust factory. Quote
WarHorse Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 I had heard somewhere that Snow White is trying to fight the deal, and that they've got till like March before they have to move from the area. Hopefully Texas Towing is the next to get the boot! Quote
txshady Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Good to see new development replacing older, worn down buildings, should make the area look much, much better. Quote
