mojeaux131
I remember a couple of years ago when this excellent new ad campaign debuted and it garnered national media attention. I thought HIWI was very clever and offbeat and just such a great fit for our city. It seemed like an ad campaign that didn`t try too hard and was certainly much cooler than lame-o slogans like `Houston`s Hot` and `Expect the Unexpected`. And people were free to add to it, too. They still are. However, I check the website periodically and it seems like they`re not going anywhere with it. The `See Why` section says to check back after August 1 to see photo submissions and it`s now October. Pathetic. It really bums me out that such an interesting ad campaign seems to have passed out mid-chug. If the guys in charge have decided they`d rather not try to attract people here (the whole `more for us` ideology), fine. But don`t keep the website up. Don`t put our city`s name on something if you`re going to half-a$s it. Edited November 4, 2007 by mojeaux131

mojeaux131
I love how a topic about Panda Express has gotten more responses than this.
Dan the Man
Though I sometimes question if Houston is worth it, I really liked that ad campaign. It was very creative and well done in terms of graphics and content. I'm sorry to see that it has fallen out of the media.
mojeaux131
Update--they finally got the site rolling again. My faith is restored. Am I capricious? Maybe. But the important thing is that the site's rocking our socks again. http://www.houstonitsworthit.com/ Keep it up, guys!
