HK1997
While shopping for contractors to install porcelain tile this was what I was told when I told him that I purchased a more expensive tile ...The price (quality) of the tile that you purchase from Floor & Decor/HD/Lowes doesn't matter. What matters is the quality of the installation. True or False? I initially planned on covering the entire floor of the house with porcelain but the differing opinions of the contractors that I talked to are steering my decision to limiting the tile to the bathrooms and the kitchen and putting laminate or bamboo in the other rooms. I am very concerned with cracking due to the shifting foundation.

Guest Marty
The older the floor gets the more likely it's going to get a hairline crack. especially after this exceptionally wet summer.
