gwilson
Hey guys,How would I find out who designed a house if I have the address or HCAD info without calling the home owner?Help! Thanks
SpaceAge
You could start by looking in the HOUSTON ARCHITECTURAL GUIDE.It is sponsored by the American Institute of Architects (AIA). I think the latest update was 1999. If the house is in Sharpstown, however, it will not be listed in this book. The only Sharpstown building listed is the Spa building next to Foley's at Sharpstown Center. That building is extremely interesting. The various shapes that intersect the grid make it exciting.I was born and raised in Sharpstown and know of several well designed houses located there. Perhaps Stephen Fox, author of the Houston Architectural Guide, has not found them yet. Hopefully some can be listed in the next update. gwilson
I am looking for the designer of the homes posted in the prairie style thread. Thanks
editor
I would think the city clerk or buildings department would have that information. I'm not sure about Houston, but in other cities the plans for a house have to be filed with the city. They should have the architect's name on them.
