Visitor information

Recommended Posts

Now and then I'll e-mail the GHCVB and ask for some information, just to see what's new around town. They always include a calendar of events among other pamphlets of information. Yesterday I got the spring edition after writing them two weeks ago. The last time it only took a couple of days. It's the same stuff you can pick up at the visitor's center downtown.

Does anyone besides me do this? I think I've asked before.

This time they sent a neat pamphlet of Houston facts. Something new I learned: Houston Grand Opera is the only opera company in the world which can boast Grammy, Tony and Emmy awards.

A sad fact that was included as well was about the River Oaks shopping center being the oldest in Texas and the second oldest in the U.S. Sad because it may lose that title.

It mentions the accomplishments of our sports teams (including the Dynamo), but the Texans' only claim is being the newest team in the NFL. :(
