  1. I have interior pictures of the store in my grandmother's old picture album, but nothing of the outside that would show those rocks. I have one outside picture of me standing up in the guard shack in the main lot, but no rocks.

Sorry I'm not more help. I saw the name Kaplan's and thought I could come to the rescue with my virtual library of old pictures. Wasn't meant to be...

Can we still see the interior pictures please?

  2. http://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/real-estate/article/Chevron-purchases-downtown-block-5112259.php

    Chevron purchase a downtown block

In late November, the oil and gas giant acquired the block bounded by Milam, Travis, Leeland and Pease. The property is used primarily as a surface parking lot, but it contains a low-rise office building at its southwest corner.

Also a update on the push back on the announced building

About two weeks ago, Chevron said it decided to push back construction of its new tower. Explaining the delay, Higgs said the company was in a "unique, capitally intensive period" and for the time being that it would be focusing its resources elsewhere.

He said Chevron was still committed to building the tower and that the delay would not affect previously announced employee moves to Houston. The decision on when to resume the project would not be made until after 2014.

From the Boyer Muller Breakfast Forum they say it will get approved most likely next year

Looks like a great development for the neighborhood especially getting rid of the huge minimax land which have been vacant for many years.

Now they need to redeveloped northwest mall lol

  4. This would either be on weskcreek or just south of it?

Here a quote from the article stating the area.

An affiliate of Stonelake Capital Partners owns an entire block at 4200 Westheimer, which it assembled in a series of 3 purchases completed in July of 2012. It’s currently the site of theWestheimer Oaks office complex and a still life of demolished modern apartment buildings behind it, accessed from Bettis St.Mid Ln. forms the western border.
