  1. I love the episode starring the lady who played JR's mom in Dallas. She kills her cheating husband by whapping him over the head with a leg of lamb. When the police show she cooks up the leg of lamb and feeds it to them, destroying the murder weapon. A classic!
  2. Me too. Alfred was the only show I liked on that channel.
  3. Does anyone know if there is a hydrant in front of this property? I couldn't tell from the pictures. If there is I beleive it would have to be closer than 10' to the fence. That is a big no no with the city. That may make them move a little faster on this. He also may be encroaching on utility easements. The city may not care if he squats on their ROW but the utility companies won't put up with it.
  4. Nothing there to judge by yet. The site plan looks pretty suburban to me. Hopefully the bike trail on the site will make it to completion.
  5. Thanks for the info. The area around the Target is really different. Artist loft/wharehouses etc. It was fun exploring an area of Houston I never saw before. Hope the re-development doesn't drive out the artists.
  6. I was trying to think of a "Senior Olymic" joke then I though most of those old people would leave me in the dust in a 5K run.
  7. I drove by the Target site a couple of weekends ago to check out the progress. On the way I saw some sort of wharehouse with all these "President" busts in the parking area. These things must have been 10-15 feet tall. Made of some sort of concrete stucco mix. There were probably about 20 of them. From Teddy Roosevelt to Clinton. Anybody know anything about this? No I'm not crazy! The voices said they saw them also.
  8. I'll be back. I'll give them a month or so to straighten their service out. Most places have service issues when they first open.
  9. Was there Saturday. The lady at the cash register couldn't have been ruder. She growls at me "take a seat". Like I'm supposed to automatically know what their serving system is. There was no "please be seated sign". At the Oinion Creek you order from the counter. I assumed they had the same system at the Dry Creek. Well after being seated and ignored for about 15 minutes I just left. Looks like a nice place and hopefully they will get their service straightened out in time. Hopefully they will get some cheerful help because the place looks like a great addition to the area.
  10. And from the looks of Paula she eats a lot of her own cooking. But she seems happy though. Is it my imagionation or do Southerners seem happier than Northerners? I'm only basing this on my experience in being from Cleveland, Oh. and now living in Houston (thank God).
  11. Happy Birthday. Sucks that you have to work on your b-day. Oh well, make up for it tonight.
  12. The Democrats really do need to get their heads out of their collective you know what. The Republicans are self-destructing and the Dems are doing nothing to take advantage of it. Next election that whole group of losers will probably get re-elected and sent back to Austin if the Dems don't figure something out.
  13. Yes, Democrats do come off as whiners and crybabies. Losing election after election will do that for you. Hopefully, because Republicans have screwed things up so bad that will change. But really, you can't be happy with the Republicans performance. They have done a pittiful job. I don't really think the Democrats are that great either just not as bad as the Republicans. All the backstabbing and finger pointing among the Texas Republicans is an encouraging sign though. Hopefully they are ready to implode.
  14. Oh. We must be talking about what the Texas legislature accomplished this year. Who are the Republicans going to blame for this years fiasco now that they have total control. Hmmmm. Must be the left wing medias fault.
  15. Yeah there is a lot of resentment for Evil Bill and Microsoft for a variety of reasons. It makes a lot of peoples day to find and exploit security holes in MS's software. People probably leave Linux and Mac alone because they have nothing against them and it is probably tougher to find holes in those OS's.
  16. Microsoft's software sucks! Bill Gates may be a great buisnessman but his software is buggy, insecure and overpriced. I had to laugh when Microsoft was fighting the anti-trust case. They kept saying "if you break us up we won't be able to innovate". What a joke! Nothing origional has ever come out of Microsoft. They have bought or stolen everything they have.
  17. Well I've always been told to Boycott all things Exxon/Mobil and deal with Shell because they are more socially responsible.
  18. Hmmm. Maybe I'll try them again. Must have gotten them on a bad day.
  19. Anyone know who serves a good Jewish deli style corned beef sandwich in Houston. Not those nasty cold ones on wheat bread with lettuce and tomato (heresy!) but the authentic hot ones on rye that are almost too big to eat. I tried Katz's but I got tired of being served attitude along with my sandwich. There is a place in Rice Village but the corned beef was a little fatty and the potato salad was awful.
  20. Yeah like the new CVS. It didn't turn out too bad. They seemed to have altered their design somewhat to better fit the neighborhood. Retailors do seem to have some hesitation with the Heights. Lots of empty storefronts. That new shopping strip at 6th and Heights has been empty for a long time.
  21. What is the story on Chavez? I really don't know much of anything about him. Pat Robertson I do know about. What a baffoon. The scary part is the thousands of like-minded followers he has. Wasn't he the one that blamed 911 on the ACLU, the feminists and the gays?
  22. Met her match? I don't think she has a quarrel with other gold star families that do not agree with her or at least she shouldn't. I'm sure she thinks they have as much right to there opinions as she does. Her problem is with Bush and not them. The people at Camp Casey should however remove the crosses for the soldiers when the fallen soldiers families do not want them there.
  23. I can't say I agree with you but your opinion was very well expressed. The only part I don't understand is why Bush thought invading Irag was important to our future security. Afganistan I understood. Iraq? I just don't get it.
