  1. Where can I find Dynamo games on TV and the radio? I want to watch or listen today's game, but I looked around and I can't find it. Thanks.

790 AM, 110 (fox soccer) on time warner. You may have to upgrade a package to get it. Only approx. half the games are televised, either on Fox Houston, or on Fox Soccer. Maybe next season with the Dynamo success more games will be broadcasted. The Fox soccer channel is awesome. They show many English Premier League games live and reaired. It also shows other leagues and college games live. Basicly its 24hrs of games with a few call-in soccer shows mixed in.

  2. The game is on the Fox Soccer Channel on Sunday, Ch.110 on Time Warner. The final goal by Ching was great. I am so excited about this game on Sun., the winner goes to the final game in Frisco next week. In the paper this morning their was a line or two about the Dynamo may have earned its owned stadium to be built, and I heard rumors from a customer today that their is talks about this going on. It wouldn't suprise me to see a stadium that can be used for MLS and HISD be built within the next five years.

  3. Would someone like to give me their thoughts/advice on purchasing property around UH near Scott?

If you can afford to buy a couple of small homes, IMO take the risk. I bought two small "shacks" in that area and rent them out. I barely break even but have some equity with it. I beleive the pay off will be with' in a decade as the value of the property goes up and then I'll find the right time to sell it to a developer .

  4. So, top ten .... five or half (50%) in Houston? Someone will get argumentative on this one.

Also several international companies like Shell have their U.S. headquarters in Houston. Also Exxon/Mobil has thousands of employees in Houston even though their based out of a Dalllas suburb. If I understand right the long time CEO has been up their his whole life and didn't want to move so he kept the corporate offices in a buisness park in the suburb where he lives. Alll the companies action is down here... There are plenty of examples of where the HQ's is in a different state and majority of the production is some where else.

  5. I recieved an e-mail today from a rep from HP. She said their were a zillion complications setting the date back several times, but now financing is set and the ground breaking will be Nov. 6th. It will be completed for the shopping season in Oct.'08. She gave me a link to the Chron. article from Sat, I must have over looked it reading the paper. The article stated an outside company could add two residential towers.

Personaly I feel 95% sure trucks will be on the property on Nov. 6th... When this breaks ground and the park tower with the park, DT is getting a huge upgrade. I am very excited with the things that are going on, things are booming all over the city....

  6. When it comes to education rates, I think you need to include the whole metro area. Also wouldn't cities with a high immigration rate, like Houston or L.A. have a lower number of educated people. The cities with a higher college edu. number do not have almost half their population as first or second generation mexican.

Their sure has been a lot of crying on here later. Some of you are trying to compare Dallas's best freeway stretch to the south loop or another cities project that is 10 years old to a Houston project that has been on the board for a year. Houston has many great things going on, I can think of over 12 cranes that are up right now, with many more to rise over the next 6 months. To many of your peepee's hurt. Lets try to focus on the many great things from the 88,000 new jobs we have to the great new parks etc...

  7. I think the park is great. It's very exciting times for the city right now and should continue over the next decade. A couple surface lots are being filled in with smaller projects already. Does the new park cover any surface lots?

  8. I took my son down to Allen's Landing Saturday morning and it's really lovely down there. You get toe see the sides of old buildings, the undersides of the old bridges and the wide merging of the White Oak and Buffalo. We say a mama duck with a bunch of little ones sliding down the loading ramp into the water.

How did you get to Allen's Landing? My boy and I usually go to herman park to hang out. Do you know of any other cool places that are in the city core, like this that are nice walks.
