"Main Street Project" moved to Other Houston.
Very spiffy, I was almost urging to start one about malls (i.e. similar to the ones on www.deadmalls.com)
always a good discussion too.
but that can wait until people really start demanding that kind of topic.

hello ladies and gents!
I've been kind of lurking around.
I love this site! thanks for having me
Welcome to the site, as the first person to respond, I encourage you to post and comment on the many wonderful threads on here and interact with the color members we have.
I also want to report this thread you created to a moderator so that it can be placed in the proper section.
This will hopefully be moved into the OFF TOPIC section.
No hard feelings I hope.

Does anyone else notice all the Waldo's popping up in Houston?

That is great news, I am proud that Houston continues to diversify and attract other businesses outside ot medical and energy.
This is a great assest to us, since most of the tech business in Texas is in Austin!
I know we had HP and Compaq in Houston already, but more is always better.
Great news.

ok so that eliminates me as the culprit - besides I have been out of town for the last several days and have not posted . . . . I see that nothing has changed.
Says you!. . . , last I checked cities other than Houston have internet access too, I have heard the internet is really starting to spread out, eventually all the big cities will have access to it, you just wait!
*sarcasm*

I don't know how I got on this mailing list but for those who are interested this may be nothing more than re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic:
Sounds like someone on here harvested your email address and signed you up as a joke, GEE, I wonder who. . . ???

Oil should realistically be between $40 and $50 like it was 3 years ago, will the Houston price per gallon being around $1.25 for regualr unleaded.
I would say $1.50 worst case.
But us accepting $2.00 is just wierd, a year and a half ago, $2 gas made news and made people mad, now we are just happy to see it at or below $2.
-
I just saw that on the news! How sad!
The bridge that goes from the garage to the main department store building, why was he under it?
-
Will an updated layout show the proposed new towers?
-
When the say they will break ground, is that the ribbon ceremony or the first scoop of dirt with the shovel ceremony.

Where is this thread?
Your looking at it buddy, you created a new thread yesterday with the same article you linked from uptown Houston.
This is the thread, no if's, and's, or but's about it !

Did you hear the guy about a month or so ago who told Roula to save her spiel because he knew it was her? I'd been waiting for that to happen.
OMG yes, I listened to that one too! I think it was (3) Thursday's ago.
For those that do not know, the whole premise of Roula and Ryan's Roses is that the DJ Roula, pretends to be a internet flower shop owner offering FREE roses to be sent. They person they offer it to simply has to say the name of the person they want to send it too and the message. by then the gimmick is up, so no address is needed.
The person suspected of cheating will either send it to his wife/girlfriend, or the lover he is cheating with. . .sounds like fun!
This one in particular was REALLY good
It was about the wife who noticed that her out of shape husband started going to the gym.
Eventually, he stopped drinking, slimmed down, was starting to dress real nice, (metrosexual), so it sounds like it was going to be a good thing.
But he was less intimate with his wife and spent less time with his kid before bed.
Also, she had noticed that he was calling his "personal trainer" after hours (the trainer was a hot female).
So, to go with the premise of Roula and Ryan Roses, Roula calls the supposedly unsuspecting husband on the phone, and he picks up after Roula says her, "This is Kathy from PlantsandFlowers.com. . ."
He cuts in and says, "Save your spiel Roula, they play the radio over the speakers are the gym!"
And he goes on to says that he is upset at his wife and the she should apologize to his trainer for calling her a whore and says to send the flowers to her!
It was good!
Last week was great too, this guy was dating this girl who had a younger sister, and he was caught sending roses to the little sister.
His answer back, after he tried to cover it up, was that the younger sister would do what she would not do.
And then imagine ghetto talk, because she started ranting and raving, and you could imagine her snapping her fingers behind the phone, with the, "Oh no you did-ant!"
Ah yes, Thursday mornings at 7 a.m., a great way to make your life seem that much better!

Hey all, I've been compiling some of the high and midrise residential development around town (except downtown). A few are repeats so bare with me.
I almost think it would have been better had you posted a reply to you own posts (4) times to get all the photos in it, rather than make (4) seperate threads. . . .just a thought.

The Empire is really coming around nice, very excited for that part of town.

They started demolition this weekend. I will try to get over there and take a pic today on my way to work.
Yay! and Awwww!.
Good that they are starting to development the new T&C Lifestyle center.
Sad to see such an old 80's icon leave.

Spiffy photo's Gary/Redscare.
Which building is this one, I don't recall.
-
Prior to being a Days Inn, the building was a Holiday Inn. I used to live at 2016 Main when it was still functioning as a Holiday Inn and it was maintained pretty well. That was in the early 80's and then the oil bust hit.
The checkered colors look great, better than the grafitti on it before.

Thanks Eth,
Here's the link:
I wish they would descirbe in detail what they plan to do between now and March 2007.

Ohwell.
What kind of camera was it? I was impressed by the shots taken in a moving vehicle.
My Sony DSC-V3 has a pain in the butt of a time taking animated photo.
They all turn out blurry.
You took some real spiffy shots in motion.
This is a sad day.

Muppet on my back.
It is supposed to have a high in the lower 70's by Friday!

I believe the Taz Texas Tornado discussion is still open for debate
Houston was too hot for that coaster, that is why it was always shutdown.
They eventually moved it out of Astroworld because of that, (not that it matters anymore huh!)

That's Spring Branch Puma, different place.
Actually I looked that the area I was thinking of, it is called Spring Valley
But yes, both Spring Branch and Spring Valley go to I-10, Spring does not, I was mistaken.

second crane went up today
Does that mean the first crane and the new crane will mate and make a new baby crane?
