If you eat that that Chinese buffett, I'd advise against you looking up the health dept's inspection of that place. Same with Java Java.

Did the guy look like this?

There is at least one building (maybe more) on Alabama around La Branch or Crawford that also has "Carlton" on the front.

Not quite the Heights, but Lyric's house in Jason's Lyric is right behind Beaver's on Decatur.

Has anyone heard any updates on this Kroger expansion? I am anxiously awaiting the sushi chef and it's already June!

I was told the expansion will start late summer.

What kind of 'skate celebrities?'
A or B listers, by 'skating celebrity' standards?
A list. Lance Mountain, Steve Caballero, Christian Hosoi, Omar Hasaan, Shaun White, Lincoln Ueda, Steve Alba, etc. etc.
How are they getting around the liability stuff? I always heard that's what killed the old skate parks. As a government owned entity, they have virtually no liability. State and local governments are immune from liability under the Tort Claims Act. In addition, they are also immune under the Civil Practice and Remedies Code for government owned land used for certain recreation purposes, including skateboarding.

I've heard it might be a medical professional building. Here is the info on the owner:

Its kinda like the Olive Garden cooking school in Italy.

Studewood Fiesta is the shizzle. The one on Sheperd is cool too.

It looks like a CVS.

Has anyone seen the Micky D's on N. Main? It looks like something from the L.A. riots or Beirut. Bricks and parts of the building are all over the place, trashcans rolling around in the parking lot. Anyone know what's up?

They've already broken ground on that Costco -- Richmond @ Weslayen.
-
Boy, I hope not. That's one of the last places left in existance where you can actually buy 4 cans of vegetables for one dollar. Easy shopping no over hype advertising and fast check outs. Like the good old days.
maybe that's why they closed.

People in the Heights shop at the Kroger on 19th/20th and Yale or Fiesta on 14th. I suppose if they lived on the western edge, they would shop at the Signature Kroger on 11th or if they lived in Heights Annex or Shady Acres.
Really? Because I live in the Heights and thought I have been shopping at the Kroger on 11th all these years. Thanks for letting me know where people in the Heights shop.

The Greyhound station isn't going anywhere...you people should quit getting your hopes up. The Midtown Redevelopment Authority doesn't know what the hades they are doing anyway, so its futile to deal with them regardless.

where is the new dharma cafe supposed to be?

This has a real chance to become a (relatively) pedestrian-friendly area
No it doesn't.

I haven't seen any other official announcement on AI service to Houston, but this article seems to say a decision has been made...
"Air-India has also decided to add three more US destinations - San Francisco, Washington and Houston - within this year after it gets possession of more aircraft with a view to maximise revenues."

Subway is notorious for building new locations very close to existing ones, much to the chagrin of their franchisees.
