  1. I think it can only be used inside loop 610 which the city deems 'Urban' as opposed to outside loop 610 which they consider 'suburban'. Apparently the city did not anticipate the desire for this ordinace so they only have ONE person working in this section of the planning department. What is supposed to take about two weeks takes about a year! I guess the good part of that is that a lot of blocks will be protected. I live in Norhill and we have about 90 of the neighborhood protected.

Any deed restrictions that do not specifially mention a minimum lot size or setback are at risk so get your blocks protected!

  2. Depends on what you need done. Fore general pest control, call Conrad's Pest Control on Weber in the 1st Ward. For termite fumigation, call Coastal Fumigators.

Security World has done a great job on my alarm and they only cost about $16 a month.

  3. Actually the construction is a good thing to keep traffic down right now. I have a listing on Fugate, right off Studewood and the owners have noticed it is actually much less busy right now. You're in a good spot though if you are on 13 1/2, because it's a dead-end street. You shouldn't have much traffic. One thing you migh do is come to the Norhill Home tour on Oct 15 and 16 to get some ideas and talk to the owners (including my house on the tour). The Heights Association has a restoration Committe that meets once a month at someone's home to see what they've done and swap stories.
