  1. Algore

The wooden clown stood there getting ever fatter

His worthless opinion; does it even matter?

Although his initial grade in college science was 'D'

He still has the nerve to charge an exorbitant fee

Only a complete moron of unscientific lore

could ever claim "millions of degrees" at the earth's core

The climate emperor has no clothes, but he keeps on talking

He's actually more qualified for Leno's 'Jaywalking'

He hopes his connections to Goldman Sachs fade

While his fondest dream is of 'Cap & Trade'

For if it becomes law, the Banksters say

Algore will collect on a major payday

Al Gore's 'green' company was started by three Goldman Sachs bigshots.

Read Matt Taibbi's article in the July issue of Rolling Stone to see how Goldman devised 'Cap & Trade'.

  2. They're still in business - with substantial government backing...

My only point was that betting on the auto stocks was risky. Ford paid off, the others didn't.

Since investing is always a risk/reward proposition, finding riskless 'no brainers' are rare.

Oil is the currency of the world...there was absolutely no way that oil would stay at $33.

Especially with Goldman Sachs running the show. (By the way, Goldman went from $47.41 to $163.60 in 5 months)

  3. Not really. I loaded up on Ford at $2.88. It closed at $8.33 today. My Roth is almost back to zero in terms of gain/losses.

What about GM and Chrysler stock?

2.) Come hell or high water, GM, Ford, and Chrysler will all remain in business, with substantial government backing-BryanS

  4. I don't think you guys get it....this is a CREATION of Goldman Sachs. Goldman Sachs runs the show.

    Weather Channel founder, Jim Coleman:

"It is the greatest scam in history. I am amazed, appalled and highly offended by it. Global Warming; It is a SCAM. Some dastardly scientists with environmental and political motives manipulated long term scientific data to create an illusion of rapid global warming. Other scientists of the same environmental whacko type jumped into the circle to support and broaden the

  5. I thought it also might be worth discussing in light of the cap and trade deal goin on right now, which the article hits on for a minute.

EVERYBODY needs to read the article in Rolling Stone magazine: 'How Goldman Sachs Runs Washington'

Not only is Goldman Sachs responsible for the tech bubble, the real estate bubble(underwriting), and the oil bubble...they are now prepared to control the CARBON CREDIT market. Goldman has managed to convert pollution into a commodity which they control. Goldman owns a 10% stake in the Chicago Climate Exchange where the carbon credits will be traded. Scumwad Al Gore has started a carbon offset investment company with THREE Goldman Sachs bigshots. READ THE ARTICLE IN ROLLING STONE!!!

  6. Well, looks like old Al has gotten his way. He won his seat back, AND, he got that Juneteenth statue he wanted so badly. They unveiled it today. They didn't put it up outside the capitol building in Austin like he originally wanted, but in Galveston. I saw a photo of it on TV today, take a guess as to who it looks like. A photo of it will likely be online later, but I just started laughing when I saw it.

    Happy Al Edwards Day!!!

(The statue not only resembles Al Edwards...it IS Al Edwards!!!)

  7. I remember eating breakfast at some restaurant called "Champ's" as a child. I liked the little train that would go around near the ceiling, and it would pass through some shelves filled with stuff. I think they closed down a few years back(I think there were multiple locations).

Oh, and yes, I also remember this place called JoJo's, which was pretty good(This was near the Fondren area, I think, where i used to live). I don't know if they are still open, though.

    I remember that train, too.

There was a Champ's at West Bellfort & Fondren.

    There was also a Champ's at Bingle & 290.

There was also a Champ's near the Southwest Freeway...Hillcroft or Chimney Rock.

  8. I dont know, thats a good question. It definitely should have helped. but i think it is the fault of the rockets for knowing how frail yao's feet are and having a 42 yr old back up just in case something happens to yao. you know?

we should have had a younger center as a back up as well.

we'd be unstoppable if we had the twin towers effect (robinson/duncan or olajuwon/sampson)

who knows. one can dream again

Keep in mind that the Rockets have NO picks in the 2009 NBA draft....and luxury tax issues.

  9. Do y'all think Yao would've been injured if Deke hasn't had his career-ending injury early in the playoffs? He could've taken some of Yao's minutes and maybe mitigated his risk of injury.

Mutombo's injury was HUGE. Defense wins championships.

  10. Do yall see anything the rockets need to make a NBA finals run besides a good backup for Yao and being healthy?

i cant think of anything else we need besides a more reliable big man or backup big man.

Definitely a defensive backup center who can play at least 13 minutes.

Yao should be banned from ever playing more than 35 minutes per game.

    Yao is 28...going on 40.

  11. the Clippers are a lost cause. look at their track record. no one can bring that team back from the dead, especially with them in LA. they need to move elsewhere for any hope of resurrection.

Not so lost anymore, they just won the Blake Griffin draft sweepstakes.

Hmmmm... Sacramento falls from 1st to 4th. Los Angeles moves from 3rd to 1st. Hmmmm... <_<

Anyone remember Patrick Ewing in 1985? ;)

  12. While Houston is small compared to L.A., we are one of the larger NBA cities.

Here is a list of NBA cities with their MSA(Metropolitan Statistical Area) rankings in order.

    (1) New York Knicks

    (2) Los Angeles Lakers/Clippers

    (3) Chicago Bulls

    (4) Dallas Mavericks

    (5) Philadelphia 76'ers

    (6) Houston Rockets

    (7) Miami Heat

    (8) Atlanta Hawks

    (9) Washington Wizards

    (10) Boston Celtics

    (11) Detroit Pistons

    (12) Phoenix Suns

    (13) Golden State Warriors(San Francisco/Oakland/Fremont)

    (16) Minnesota Timberwolves(Minneapolis/St. Paul/Bloomington)

    (21) Denver Nuggets

    (23) Portland Trailblazers

    (25) Sacramento Kings

    (26) Cleveland Cavaliers

    (27) Orlando Magic

    (28) San Antonio Spurs

    (33) Indiana Pacers(Indianapolis/Carmel)

    (34) Charlotte Hornets

    (39) Milwaukee Bucks

    (41) Memphis Grizzlies

    (44) Oklahoma City Thunder

    (46) New Orleans Hornets

    (49) Utah Jazz(Salt Lake City)

*It's hard to rank the New Jersey Nets, especially since they are trying to move to the Bronx*

*Toronto is about the same size as Houston*

Seattle Supersonics would have been 15th.

San Diego is most deserving of a team at 17th.

Houston has a larger population than current playoff teams Orlando & Cleveland combined.

Stern's nightmare scenario: Utah Jazz vs Milwaukee Bucks

  13. Maybe the Rockets should make a poster of Rammer with the banner:

    WARNING! - Fair Weather Fan

I'm not a fair weather fan. I'm just far more impressed with a 5'11", 160 lb point guard(Brooks) and a 6'6"(Hayes) stopper playing against 7-foot centers than I am rooting for giants.

I'll root for the tough, undersized underdogs everyday. ;)

  14. First Mutombo now Yao. Game over I'm afraid.

Dikembe played 18 seasons; 11 times he played at least 70 games.

Yao has only had 4 seasons of 70+ games.

They should make of poster of Yao on crutches with the following banner:

    FRAGILE - Made in China
