  1. It's the MONNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Yep, it's the $$$. And you have many PDs looking for it on 288: HPD, Harris County Sheriff, Pearland Police, Brazoria County Sheriff, Manvel Police (a little to the south), and Troopers all have some juris on 288!!! Go figure.

    Solution? :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

  2. - From the Chron's Inside Pearland blog.

Also, they've strung wires onto the poles and have moved Southern Trail's flagpoles back a few feet.

Call me a pessimist if you like. I don't think four lanes will suffice with time. When the town center opens and all of Teal Run and Fresno come to shop, plus when the rest of Shadow Creek opens, 518 west of 288 will just be like 518 east of 288. And I think this will happen in less than 2 years. Looks like Shadow Creek Ranch will be boxed north, south, east with retail, apartments, retail, retail etc.

  3. I've got a good one - CVS's on every other corner. That would directly show the increased demand for "drugs".

    ...and Walgreens opposite them.

    I've got some more:

...Pearland and Sugar Land eyeing 100,000

...all hospitals expanding, outside med center

    ...new sub Ds opening

and parks getting more people too.

  4. Not much of a baseball fan I guess. ;)

I was raised in Africa where football rules- I mean the one you play with your legs. We learn other sports in high school. Basketball is one of them, baseball is not, American style football is not. I cheer Astros because everyone at work is crazy about them, and I like to be a proper Houstoninan.

I play basketball sometimes but don't even know how baseball is scored...

  5. TMC needs a good daycare that will cater for kids from 6 months up. I wish someone can open a good daycare in the area. It will be a goldmine. Some of those hospitals can even patner them for employee discounts, paycheck deduction etc., like they do with Bright Horizons in downtown right now.

My wife and I both work in TMC and have been looking for a daycare for our girl since Dec 06. The Montessori is not pocket-friendly to us. We're not so pressed because she goes to a home in our subdivision, but older woman just want the luxury of sneaking out to check on the lil' one.

  6. Please note nowhere did I say them swimming in Kinder Lake was a bad thing. As a wise person observed, "that's Texas 2008."

You see new things every day.

Of course that water quality is not that great for swimming.

Swimming in that lake is bad. Please let's stop it at that and let's not get personal. I live in surburbia Manvel and have visited the park twice. We dined downtown on one of those visits. My wife can't have enough of the park. By the way we lived in SW part for 3 years and never visited DT. Great to have something to cheer downtown apart from the Rockets.

  7. It'll definitely happen, but the question is when. It'll probably be a few years.

Yep...few more years for more subdivisions to open up and more residents move in. But with the drag in economy/real estate, it might be a little longer or even grounded permanently.
