Nothing at all...I live on 7 1/2 St. and we got maybe a half an inch of rain...even had to water my yard today....lol

I guess here is my mine question then...since it seems like wind is of the bigger concern do you think the winds will get strong enough this far in to warrant getting plywood to cover the windows? Looks like I have to do it tomorrow if so.

My house is in need of some work with the block and beam. How much expense can I expect to shim the house at various parts to make the foundation smoother? Do you guys recommend anyone good on these kind of houses? Does this cause cracking in the walls, etc?

Thanks for the input...will be interested to see how this neighborhood handles a big storm if we get a direct hit from a category 4.

I have been living in the Norhill section of the Heights for 5 months and am wondering what to expect in terms of flood waters, etc. How do these old houses hold up to high winds. I have an old wood house. I am asking since there are members who have probably been through storms in the area. I am trying to get a gage on what to expect.

Is it just me or this the place that you would think NO people are most likely to resettle? I say this due to architectual style, history of the area, etc. I live in the Woodland Heights and am seeing quite a few families staying with friends and families here. I also am noticing that a lot of residents in the Heights are already from Louisiana.

I am new to the board and had some questions. I am purchasing a home in the area and was wondering about future development going on. How do other members on the board think the area will do over the next 5 years. My wife and I are thinking this area might be a good investment as this seems to take the overflow of people priced out of the Heights. The Heights doesn't seem to have many alternatives other than Timbergrove and Shady Acres. Since Timbergrove is deed restricted we decided to go with a townhome in Shady Acres. Anyway I think we will eventually move when we start having kids due to schools...( around 5 years ) so do you think there will be a good amount of development between now and then? Will the schools in the area effect the resale value? Does anyone here now of stores that will be moving into some of those large vacant spots of retail space near Ella and TC Jester? All in all just trying to see if anyone here has a pulse of the development that should be going on here. Thanks
