  1. I didn't know that Oscar and Lynn Wyatt's son, Steve, was responsible (or highly rumored) for breaking up Sarah Ferguson's marriage until I found out the other day when I came across a news article on Oscar Wyatt. Interesting. We never hear anything about Steve, or maybe I haven't paid attention. I don't think he lives in Houston. Where is he now and what does he do?

Urban Cowboy Chic. What? This guy is from Texas?

    http://www.nypost.com/seven/09122007/news/...l_man_skids.htm

My brother parties with him every now and then. He got married. Him and his wife Kate have two beautiful little kids, Ford and Katherine. The talk about Ferge is history.

  2. 1.Improve and expand the bus and rail service

2.Let people see Houston as a place for not only business, but also for leisure

3.Clean and beatify the city (air,homeless,trash,trees/flowers etc.)

This could help, build a couple of iconic skyscrapers of course one would have to be a super tall. Its just an idea so please dont rip it to pieces.

I agree. I went to the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. If Houston is having a hard enough time with everyday traffic, they won't survive the Olympics. For example, my hotel was 15 minutes away from the main stadiaum and it took me at least 3 hrs to get there cause there was so many people.

There was hardly any slums and the city was simply beautiful. They had the Red Rock and the Sydney Opera House, which makes Houston's Jones Hall very small. No offense, I love Houston, but the city is not strong enough for the Olympics. The beaches .... was soooo beautiful. The sand was so white I thought it was snow. Galveston could never compete.

  3. What are the g

eneral opinions of Pecan Grove and the Country Club? What about prices for membership for the CC as well. I am considering purchasing a house in Pecan Grove.

I lived in Pecan Grove with my parents when i was in high and college. we lived right on the golf course. It was pretty cool. The people are really nice and the country club is cool. They had to rebuild the club about 15 yrs agao bc they had a really bad fire. Luckly no one was hurt, but the place was badly damage. I would recommend it to anybody who have a family to raise.

  4. that will mount and balance tires? Preferably a mom n' pop shop. I have two new tires that i want installed. Thanks.

I go to Horsch Tire and Services out in Richmond, Tx. Its right across the street from the courthouse. Their number is 281.342.4410.. the owner is Jim Horsch and he been there since 1974. Very reasonable in prices too.

  5. For some reason as suburban as Sugar Lad is I always thought of it as the urban suburb. You really do not even feel too far from Houston because the area is so established and built up already. Driving down some of the elm tree canopied streets in Sugar Lad has the same feel as if you are in the inner loop somewhere.

I grew up in Sugarland, and I rememeber it being nothing but farmers land and rice fields. Not anymore. When I think of Sugarland, i think of The Woodlands.. Just look at First Colony Mall with its trendy little shops. Things are changing drastically out in Ft Bend Co.

  6. Memorial park, rice university - are obvious...

Any other choices? I tried Buffalo Bayou - and it was dead and parts seemed like a great place to get killed!

Any other suggestions inside the loop??

I was thinking about running the Rice Stadium steps... What do you think???

I run the Hermann Park Golf course. For me it's closer b/c I work there. And I haven't had any problems. I been running there for about 2 yrs. now.

  7. 13 had a story that stated that Harris County is going to start a park and ride service starting in october on I-10 east from the san jacinto mall to downtown. Harris County will be contracting the service through METRO. this will be the first time service has been provided to an unincorporated area and might be expanded to other areas like tomball and cypress.

it would help alleviate the traffic in those areas.

  8. All nice.

I could swear I saw Barney Fife and Aunt Bea walking by. Makes you wonder how people can survive since the best jobs must be far away over yonder.

My brother and his family lives in Smithville and they love it. I hope I can go and visit them one day soon.

  9. I love Columbus. My grandmother lived there. It is such a gem and so close to Houston. We love eating at Schoebel's when we go out that way.

i ate at Schoebel's. i dated a guy from columbus. I think his family owns a muffler shop. Its a great little town!

  10. I remember seeing them at Toys R Us, they came with there own dog house. arrrrr

My favorite toy was the cabbage patch dolls. They were so ugly that they were cute..

  11. I did the same thing too what was i thinking

edit; does anybody remember Black Star

wasnt that some planet ship thing from star wars that luke skywalker tried to blow up or something?

  12. no i said many inner loopers who have alternative would never take public transportation. time is too valuable for many. when i take public transportation, i'm usually not in a time crunch. a few weeks ago i had to go to my dentist who is on main ( near dryden in TMC). it took me 20 mins (from my house to park garage) and 5 mins to get to his office. during the work week, for me it is just too time consuming to use public transportation to run an errand such as this.

The medical center is the worst place for public transportation.. I work there and i dread going to the hospital b/c of the traffic. But the parking for employees is very expensive that public transportation IS the only way to go.

  13. well...in the 70's when were way worse, the city/state expanded many freeways to alleviate the system as a whole. then the toll road authority came into place and did hardy and then beltway 8, which helped tremendously. it was a boon connecting the se to the sw side. before we only had roads like 518 and almeda genoa. on the west side i used to take gessner for a north/south route.i'd have to agree. the amouth of growth that houston has experienced in even the last 10 yrs is amazing. the burbs have ballooned resulting in many more people on 290/10/45/59/etc.

look at the woodlands and tomball. especially sugarland..

  14. I guess Carrot Top had to compensate for that face somehow. But, eww, he's so veiny.

One time this mean girl at school said I looked like the dog from "Dukes of Hazzard".

Is there a dog on that show?

yes and the dog name is flash which belong to roscoe the cop...

  15. I just found out that the Season Three DVD set of "Airwolf" has just come out on "deepdiscountdvd.com." The price is $30.25, with free shipping.
