  1. They have begun clearing the land on the South East side of the intersection. I'm guessing they got that parcel since it was much larger and they did not have to deal with the pond reconstruction or moving. CBRE and Caldwell are both marketing others adjoining parcels with Future HEB listed in the spot they have began clearing.

  2. HPE will remain at 249. They still have some of their manufacturing there. Specifically CCM7. HPI will be occupying the space in Springwoods Village. I know of a few HPI employees that live rather close to 249 and Louetta who are looking for positions within HPE just to stay close. Even though the trip to the HPI location would be somewhat quick and easy down 99.

  3. I haven't seen any announcements. Just heard that one from a little birdie that always seems to know whats going on real estate wise around Willowbrook. Never failed me in the past,

Shooters (or at least I think I remember them calling it Shooters) is almost done with their reno and look to be opening soon where In the Wind used to be on the End Cap next to the mattress place across from Baker Street.

  4. Heard it through the restaurant grapevine.

Brick House is going in where Joes Crab Shack was. Reno has already started there.

And I hear that Twin Peaks will be going in where Tokyo One is located currently.

That intersection seems kinda plagued when it comes to restaurants. But maybe now with Bikinis, Brick House, and Twin Peaks there, maybe it will turn around and last for a bit.

  5. Was interested to see if anyone has more information than I can find on the old estate on Nasa Parkway on Clear Lake across from the Hilton. See the overhead shot via maps.live.com below. It looks like a pretty large estate with guest quarters and a nice garden, pool, and other features I can't make out. Maybe a stable or tennis court? Looking at HistoricAerials.com (which was down when typing this), it looks like it predated the Space Center which was my first guess as to who might live there. An important figure there. It also appears to have been part of the Rice Univeristy System for a bit. HCAD shows Olajuwon as the currect owner. What were it's beginnings and who was the lucky person to have such a nice place right on the lake? ANy stories or coments welcome.

  6. I searched the site but could not find anything. If this topic has been discussed, please shoot me a PM to the thread and close this one.

Someone on another forum was asking about and talking about the Seabrook Murder Mansion aka Toddville Road Mansion aka List Mansion and was looking for more information. Supposedly it was haunted and a pretty nasty murder occured there back in the 70's. Many urban legends surrounded it. I found the following site that as a little tidbit on the story which interested me so I thoughh I would post up here to get the real scoop. Couldn't really find much more. Anyone got any pictures of the place and or credible stories or sources for more information? Who was Bill List?

    Thanks ahead of time.

  7. Should work fine. Will make a great plotter for a freelancer or similar! When it was in use, it would occasionally not respond to network print jobs. A quick power cycle always seemed to resolve it. The plotters have since been upgraded. We just need the thing gone. It will come with the JetDirect installed and should have full cartridges and a full roll of paper. It would have to be picked up and buyer would have to arrange for transportation. Located near IAH. I'll leave the ad up in a few places and the top offer by tomorrow or so gets it.

    Make an offer!!!

    E-Mail all offers to Mike_Taylor AT swn.com

  8. The same in Louisianna. You can run to the convenience store at 7 a.m. on Sunday and get a bottle of Whiskey, carton of cigs, and ammo fer yer hunting trip. They will also sell ya a Jack and Coke through the drive up window if ya want it.

  9. I'm surprised there hasn't been a topic on this yet. It has been closed for a few weeks now. That place had been around forever. I have alot of friends that were directly affected by the closure and there are a ton of rumors around, some I tend to believe more than others knowing Al from hanging there.

That space was BIG! It looks like they are not going to be re-opening either. The rumor I believe the most is that of a lease dispute. The owner wanted to renogiate the lease to downsize the bar but the owner refused. The "Poker Area" and the Upstairs are really large and I would assume that was hard to keep air conditioned. It has been mentiond that he just wanted to get rid of those two areas and focus on the bar. Now that that is not an option, what do you guys see going in it's place?

    What's yer thoughts?
