  1. If they're talking about launching rockets, I don't think being that close to a large population center is a good idea. Note that launch sites are normally out in the countryside (as in Russia) or right next to the ocean (Kennedy) so that when something goes wrong fewer people get hurt.

There was some information about this on the Chron and from the Houston Airport System. Rockets use a vertical launch and vertical launches are restricted at spaceports

  2. The tower is not as tall or bold as many wanted but it adds to our skyline and complements the other towers downtown. Chevron wanted a cost efficient, centrally located, and comfortable office space for its employees and this new tower does that nicely. I was really hoping that they would build the city’s tallest tower but a tower that 75+ stories and 1000+ feet was probably never consider when researching what their new tower would be.

  3. I enjoyed this season for the most part, wish we were in the post season. The reason I enjoyed watching them is because they were good and played hard, and they are going to be in contention for west conference title next season when Yao is back in the middle. But to beat the Lakers in a game 7 on the road to me, they are going to need another big that can produce 20 and 10 a game. That big is Chris Bosh. Started a fanpage on facebook to help get Bosh to Clutch City. Go Rockets!

  4. I have not read this topic so can some one answer this question for me? Is UH developing its campus just to upgrade on what it already has or devloping to really compete for students from around the state with UT and A&M? I don't think many students looking for college know that UH is the third largest university in Texas, I don't think many students in the Houston area know that.

  5. Dont like nfl/football all that much but I watch the Texans a little. They are going to have an ok season, seven maybe nine wins. Only watch to see AJ80. He is our best player and the leader of this team. The question should be how far do we get if Johnson stays healthy and not that average to below quarterback (I think he will improve much this year though). Playoffs only if Schaub is a good soild healthy QB pared with the best WR in the game. They play 17 games now not 16 so there would be no .500 or 9-7.

  6. If the rockets can win game 2 then the blazers will and desire will be really down and crushed if it is another blowout. I do not want to give this team a shoot at thinking they can beat us. So win or lose tonight they must win every game at home. Go Rockets!

  7. Do those twin towers look like a upgraded version of Anadarko Corporate Office in The Woodlands to anybody else? This would be a great add to Houston if it gets built. This project looks out of place for Houston, but in a good way. I feel like this was something that came out of Miami. I like the new walkway from Relient park, I always felt that bridge would just fall for some reason. Great project if it gets built or not.

  8. Did anybody see the game last night? I am still in shock. I thought the rockets lost when roy hit his 1st buzzer beater then Yao cam with an amazing shoot with 2nd buzzer beater. (He should have missed the free throw) Then Roy shoot a deep three for the final buzzer beater all of this happened with 1.9 seconds left in the game.
