It's sad to see people have attitudes over forums. I was just refreshing the topic, thats all.
thank you tjones for your comment. i have applied to many dealerships and no one seems to want to give me a chance.
Well, you know that your Cutco knives were purchased from an MLM. Back in the day, the Cutco knives were sold through a company named Vector Inc which advertised on college campuses to lure college kids into buying these cutlery. I know, i was one of them kids. This MLM would have some seminar in a hotel and get college kids to buy the knives and ask them to sell to relatives or any other fool out there. I guess they're still at it these days. Are they still selling them for $100? My advice to you is go to college or do a work-study.

The cost of living and warm weather are two of the biggest reasons why many Vietnamese stay here. Also, the job or business opportunities aren't so bad.

Houston is fortunate to have such a large and diverse international community.
Most people in this country don't realize how diverse Houston really is.
The city should promote this info at every turn!
Diverse, but i still don't see many different groups mingling/hanging out together much considering how large this city really is. Very disappointing. Out of towners will notice this also.

Jan Jeffcoat is ugly. She also wears too much makeup!
As far as best looking, I'd go with Mia Gradney(WB 39), Karla Barguiana(Ch. 11), Christina Garza(Fox 26), Stephanie Guadian(Ch. 13),Rachel McNeil(Ch. 2), and Dominique Sachsa(Ch. 2).
I've seen Chau Nguyen in person and she is not attractive. Karla and Christina are tall.

Although a big three would be nice, I'd rather have more role players who are consistent. Our role players weren't consistent. And I think our depth could have been better, but JVG didn't give some guys the chance they needed. I sort of feel like things weren't broke, but they still tried to fix things. We should have just kept James as a backup PG, even if he had a score first mentality. He brought fire off the bench. And Kirk Snyder did well the season before and was the aggressive type we needed, yet JVG refused to give him enough minutes. And why didn't he play Dikembe more in the playoffs?
And I agree that Battier wasn't consistent enough either, at least not in the playoffs.
I say we get some good all around players like Battier, and once Adelman gets a hold of them, they'll be more balanced.
They need a good consistent point guard. They should find a way to get Mike Bibby(PG) who used to play under Aldeman back in Sacramento. Get rid of Alston and have Luther come off the bench. It looks like Bonzi(PF) is coming back since he had a good relationship with Aldeman back in Sacramento. We just need to tweak our bench a bit more.

Maybe BMW commercial? I know a couple of weeks ago they were filming one on Louisiana and Leeland by the Enron ring area.

Hey donnieyen, I am answering your pm here so others can help also or benefit from our conversation.
If you want to use a php shopping cart like osCommerce, it makes sense to go with Linux. You do need to mange a little hosting, but most hosting packages come with a control panel to manage the hosting. If you need to do some feature customizations, you do need to know php. If you just want design customization, let me just say tha osCommerce can be a pain in the ass cause their code is all over the place.
If you must go with an open source php shopping cart, you can also look at ZenCart or Creloaded. These two are actually a fork of osCommerce, meaning another development team has taken the original osCommerce code and gone in a different direction. Creloaded has decided to put a lot of osCommerce contributed modules into its cart, so you don't need to search and install different modules.
ZenCart has taken osCommerce's code and clean it up a little, and also created a better separation of code and design html. If you only have html experience, I would go with Zencart. Even if you have php experience, I would still go with zencart for their better separation of html and code, but that's just my preference.
Another popular paid version of php shopping cart is X-cart, which a lot of ppl are using. I think the code is a little better but still a mess, especially the design html separation part.
Many hosts also already have a an open source shopping cart included in their hosting package so you don't need to find and install it. osCommerce is usually included in a lot of hosts. So is a miva merchant, which is not open source, so you have to pay more for your hosting per month.
If you do not want to go with with hosting anything, you can use many of the application service providers out there, where they don't let you touch any server backend, so you can go right in, setup and start running your business. They can be more expensive monthly and lack customization. But they work for many folks. Those include yahoo store, ebays' prostores, volusion, monstercomerce, 3dcart, pinnacle cart. I really liked pinnacle cart. Clean and easy. Yahoo store charges a percentage of your sales, and they can be hard to customize with their rtml code. But most ppl who use yahoo store will get other developers to customize it anyway.
Your question about merchant account is another complicated one. For online merchant you need to have the account and also a payment gateway. But overall, you can signup and link it to your cart yourself. Most shopping cart makes that easy. So it shouldn't be a problem.
If you want to learn more about all these, you can go to a site like sitepoint.com. They can be really helpful, articles and forums.
Great info! I appreciate it. Thanks.

The hours must be long and crazy or it must be the low pay that is driving these people to leave. Darren Lyn, Lisa Foronda, Maria Valdez, etc. are all gone!

Roger and Andy are way overpaid!! Honestly, i'm glad they weren't here. Just remember Roger cost us game 6 against the Cardinals a couple of years ago. He also lost game 2 of World Series by getting hurt. Andy was horrible last year. My comment to the Yankees is "becareful what you wish".
Now business wise, i don't have a problem with him going to Yanks. You can't turn down 4.5 million/month. My problem was that he was stringing the Astros along for like a whole year or two . I wish he would just come out and say it was the money and the fact that the Yanks are way better than the Astros will be. I'd have more respect for him if he did.

Just heard that Van Gundy is retiring! This will be a good thing. We also need changes in certain players. Rafer needs to go!.

I love the Rockets, but if they beat the Jazz tomorrow, I think the Warriors are going to tear them up in round 2. I hope not, but I fear so.
Rockets match up well against Warriors. Just be worried if they can beat the Jazz tonight.

I remember eating at Fuzzi(?) on Post Oak like back in the early 90s. Also, Uncle Thai's back then also. It was like 65 bucks for dinner when i tried it once back then. It was on Post Oak and Westheimer area.

If the Texans go 4-12 or worse this upcoming season, i think Kubiak and Rick Smith should both be fired. They better hope Okoye works out.

Strict time limits on newscasts
in Houston and the Media
Posted · Edited by donnieyen
Question about the news biz or tv in general. I was watching WB 39 tonight and it was very near the end of their newscast and their sports reporter was discussing the Astros. He was going to talk about Craig Biggio's 3,000th hit when he just stopped and mentioned time ran out. The newscast ended right away.
Why not just finish the story. It probably would've lasted no more than 5 minutes. The next show on is taped anyway not live, so why worry about it. I assume the local stations are in control of their broadcast right? So it is not likely that the WB national station itself would cut off the newscast right? What is the big deal? A few minutes wouldn't hurt especially when it is like late at night already and commercials would've been played anyway.
My other general question is how much control does the local station have? For example, i remember watching college basketball this past season when CBS was showing Georgetown vs Duke. I wanted to see a local area team(Texas vs Texas A&M ?) , but it was never shown. I thought the local stations would just change it to the Texas game. It was not like the Texas game was on another network. It was on the same network(different commentators), so why did KHOU not just change it to that game? Is it because they can't since CBS did not provide them the Texas vs. Texas A&M feed or something? Just trying to understand how this TV biz works.
