  1. "No, I disagree with these two. I want you to post everything you've got and go into as much detail as you feel comfortable doing. It will help people in the future who want to do what you're doing."

If people know everything there is to know, what will be the fun of figuring it out for themselves? Secondly, it will turn people off when they find out how much time, money and effort it takes.

  2. Suckas! I have a modern home and a yard that needs some work. Any volunteers? If I knew it'd be that easy, I'd have a pool in my backyard too. *sigh*

  3. I think the people who did the remodel ended up moving into the home.

As for the home across the street from this home (the one with the roof half on), this home has been under remodel for ages. There should be a seperate post just for that home- I dunno what's going on, but the lack of progress is troubling. An old man has been working by himself on it for the last 2 years, that I know of. Crazy, it even went through Ike with only half the roof on. I can only imagine what the inside looks and smells like.

  4. "Conveniently on fire" sounds very slanderous to me. Again, I would like to address the issue of mean spirited posts. All facts should be investigated before implying ill will. Convenient would be having the house burn to the ground in October 2006 before all attempts to restore and save a mid century modern home had been made, build a mansion using insurance money "if any could have been collected in the first place" and sell the joint- take your money and run. Restoring a 1956 home from top to bottom takes money for sure. KatieDidIt occur to you that perhaps all the financing was secured through Sterling Bank (I see the sign out front) before the renovations began in July? Or did you perhaps, have a rush of bad judgement making this post?
