I wish somone (not me) would make a mash up google earth site with this information mapped.

Looks like they are trying to remedy that with the new construction.

This site has some pretty good information about protesting.

I have protested four times, and each time the assesment was lowered.

God I miss montrose. Sometimes as I sit on my patio in the Heights I feel like I'm 1000 miles away from my old haunts.

I read today in the press that you can no longer take dogs to Brasil, shocking!

I moved from The Heights (where I lived for about 12 years, and my wife lived about 13 years) to The Montrose in 2000. It is a different world down here.

The Heights is truly a small town. (When you start waking up at 5:00 instead of 5:30, not only do your neighbors know, they want to know why)

The Montrose is much more urban (and urbane? Perhaps). You can walk places here.

I enjoyed The Heights.

But I love The Montrose

I have lived in Houston for 19 of the past 24 years. The last 4 have been in The Montrose, the previous 10 in The Heights, and before that outside the loop.

The Montrose has much more of an urban feel to it than The Heights. (The Small Town inside the Big City, one of the old slogans for The Heights, is not far off.) We can walk to many shops and restaurants now, but in The Heights that was very difficult.

Crime exists in both places, I was broken into twice in The Heights, my wife (not my wife at the time) was living on Bayland and was broken into four times
