  1. I am thinking about moving to this subdivision being built off of Barker Cypress(?) at Groseky. Really need any info. you can give me about it. - Rep. of Pride Builders - Quality of homes being built - Is the near area prone to floodin or has it ever flooded (West airport area) - Is it a master planned community?   2. I want to do as much research as I can into the West Oaks area. I am looking to buy there in about a year, and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience or insight into this area. Subdivisions include: 1) Westheimer Place (Sec. 3) 2) Clayton Trace 3) Oak Park trails (Patio homes) 4) Timbergate Has anyone ever lived here? What are some things I need to know or watch out for? How are their HOA's? Home quality? Neighborhood, etc. Ideally, I would LOVE to see new construction close to that area, (not nec. Katy but West Oaks). Does anyone know if anything is planned? Can anyone give me any insight? THANKS!
  3. Can anyone please tell me anything you know about West Oaks area, near West Oaks Mall and George Bush park? I've noticed some nice homes (oak Park Patio and Oak Park Ridge) that are fairly new. Wish I would have noticed them earlier or I may have moved there. Specifically, - Is this a nice area? - Is it considered South Katy or Alief - **Are there any new developments planned in the next few years? Any and all insight is greatly appreciated!

I know its Cy-Fair school dist. and that's good, but I'm wondering about statistics, crime, re-sale value, etc. Specifically, I am looking at getting a townhome in the Villages of Langham Creek or Langham Creek condos.   10. Thanks for all the input. Pardon my ignorance, but in reference to fixing something up, when you say that it is good to do it myself, are you saying that as opposed to hiring contracted labor? Re: schools, I don't have any childen but looking ahead to resale value
  11. Ok, thank you for the comments, esp. about the cookie-cutter subdivisions. Thanks to reading the postings throughout this site, I didn't have a good feeling about it. I can get by with a bedroom and a study, but would like a 3 bdrom if possible. I'd like to make some room should an elderly parent need to live with me someday. I'd like a two story home with 2 bathrooms. If I can get 3 bedrms, the ideal floorplan would have one of the rooms downstairs. I guess in order of importance, here' the critieria appreciation / safety floorplan close to town schools Thank you.

  13. Ok, I'll just be blunt. I am trying to be a first time homebuyer and I am determined to live within my means. Is there any hope of finding something in a good neighborhood for under $100,000, $110,000 MAX? I drove out to Katy to a new subdivision (Lakeville) that was in that range but the drive was too much for me since I work in the Galleria area. I am considering a townhome, but bearing in mind that I would have to figure in the cost of maintenance fees for the townhome, (about $180-$280) from what I've seen. Please let me know what my best bets would be. I want to make a good investment, so appreciation is important to me. Of course, the closer into town, the better. I like the NW part of town, with the boundary probably to be Beltway 8. I would consider Klien area. I also like Breas Heights. What about Sugar Land? Thanks
  14. I am a new home buyer and looking to buy in Katy. Looking at the listings, can anyone tell me about Lakeville or Brenwood? Both have homes that are 2 yrs. old or newer and affordable.
