You know what i like to see in restaurants all around the country. I think it would be fun though unscientific. Maybe they should do it in Houston though it would probably be a clear choice for McCain. I would like to see popular restaurants rename their popular dishes called 'McCain.....' or 'Obama....' for the next week or so. Each restaurant would post their results of how many ordered the 'McCain' or 'Obama' at the end of the week. I want to see something other than polls from the media.
I never order because of names. If there's an ingredient I don't like, I skip it.

McCain was asking Russia for money.
That's after taunting them last summer, so the Russians apparently told the media.

I'd rather not get into it here; it would drive the thread further off topic. Let's just say that they let their goals get in the way of their methodology.
Now it's on-topic. Do you have any insider information?

Those people are not credible. Not even a little.
Why not?

Do you crib all of your posts from pamphlets?

I even found a graphic.
Google is your friend.
Lawsuit abuse. It's driving all US doctors into the poor house.

Look, since I am going to call em as I see em, maybe it's best I not post here at the political threads (at least).
Yes, that would be best.

What the hell is going on here?

Is it any different than McCain supporters railing against 'out of control spending' when McCain's fiscal policies would increase the National Debt 50% more than Obama's?

Should this thread title be edited? Like the Phil Gramm one?

D Magazine's editor endorses Obama:
(Since I cannot post the whole thing, I will just choose an excerpt.)
...But today it is so-called conservatives who are cemented to political programs when they clearly don

I could have sworn...
But I'm more worried about the Economy then my rights. My country before me. I'd rather be a rich 2nd class citizen, then a poor one.
So why do you believe Obama would be bad for the economy? Pretax income has been higher across the board under Democratic presidents. That leads to higher tax revenues, which helps local governments to sustain lower rates.

Interesting read here: (link)
Arresting women for kissing on the beach are very small things compared to human rights abuses in the UAE. It's impossible to have this level of extravagance without an extremely hierarchical society.

Someone edited the title? Why?

Lincoln had one term in the US House of Representatives before he became the president. Buchanan was a Senator, Secretary of State, a diplomat, a member of the House, etc. There is no doubt which one was a better leader, though.
You're speaking as if Bush's experience had anything to do with his awful presidency - that it wasn't his character which included absolute moral certainty. Obama is a pragmatist, which is quite the opposite. McCain's camp has a lot in common with the current president in this regard. Palin? Definitely. McCain? Seemingly.

I hate to think of any president, regardless of party, being targeted by assassins, but unfortunately that may be the case. We have even had HAIF members make veiled threats about armed rebellion in the event of an Obama victory. America can do better than mob rule.
It was the same story under the Clintons. First, the predictions of doom, then the resentment when he ran circles around them, and it all ended with squabbling over petty things. The 90s was the decade of armed militia compounds, you know. The only domestic threat for Bush II has been a bag of pretzels.

This will be the first election to have voters who were born after the fall of the Berlin wall. That means all new voters are not going to respond to crotchety old rants against communism/socialism.

Let me add that, those conditions will only be used under Paulson's discretion. I don't have much confidence that he do much beyond helping his old firm out.
True. McCain has much less socialistic tendencies than Obama. Again, the lesser of two evils.Have you been paying attention during every Republican administration since at least Reagan?

We have a mixed capitalist-socialist economic system, and we have had it for decades.
Re: bailout.
The amount spent depends on which institutions take up the bailout offer. The restrictions on that money make it a tough pill for Wall Street to swallow. From what I've heard, the US taxpayer is a primary stockholder when it buys these distressed securities. That's a liability for these companies.

Speaking of gaffes:
Or is this a secret call for help?

His old district was fine. It was fairly represented and now it is shared with friggin Austin. That's one of the most ridiculous things to happen in this state in the past five years.
Oops, 25 is actually the one from Austin to the border. Tell me how this isn't a joke.

I hope they are spending money on some sort of an army.
So many targets. . . it is becoming a scary uber dense city.
I am over it, I think they are growing way too fast and wasting too much steel so they can claim "me too, look at me I am taller" BS.
There aren't too many people there. There is a lot of money to build plenty of phalluses tall buildings.

It's a weak attack - guilt by association. Especially since Obama was only seven years old at the time. Bush gets a pass for palling around with Cuban terrorist Orlando Bosch and others. There are probably thousands of worse skeletons in McCain's closet, and his participation in the Keating Five scandal is merely one of them. As I said - weak attack.

We could just get rid of 290. Upgrade the segment and call it I-10N and re-sign the Katy Freeway as I-10S.
