I went today. What a fantastic addition to Hermann Park and a truly great playground. I couldn't recommend it more highly for families. I wish there was a little more inviting open lawn space for non-families, but this will still be a destination area for Houstonians for years to come

Gotta love them (presumably) actually listening to some feedback. It would really dampen that part of the hike and bike trail if there was suddenly a big parking lot to your left

The whole area was extremely well done. We chose not to wait in the long line for the big playground, but my kid loved the little playground on the side with the big monkey

According to Instagram, the Commons seems to have actually opened this past weekend. Did anyone manage to snap any pics?

Wow, seems like that will be quite the scene when it's done

This is going into the old Craft Beer Cellar spot. Great development! Hopefully people decide to make the trek up to that part of Downtown and this place thrives. La Calle already seems to kill it on that block

@wilcal, I'm not disagreeing with you, but what do you see as a recent spark? My feeling is that Midtown is in a very tough spot right now, with the closure of the Whole Foods and High Fashion Homes, as well as the lack of further planned high-rise development

This is all pretty confusing. Zimmerman Interests owns 110 & 114 Main Street and the owners are really interested in rehabbing and revitalizing the northern edge of Main Street. It'd make a ton of sense if they were developing this land into something new, but it makes no sense for a gas station developer to come in and build something there

Cool to see that they're hard at work. I wonder, will the actual Taco Stand be in that restored building? Doesn't feel like that'd match the other Bermudez restaurant aesthetics, but it'd be a nice change

Hopefully this fluff piece means they're still expanding and plan on moving forward with their Montrose highrise. I believe they own the lot where Bacco used to be. I'd love for the huge empty lots in Montrose to start filling in

Wow, this is an incredible update. Magnol is the best bakery in Houston. This location is going to be obscenely popular

Drove by here the other day and I didn't see any progress. Anyone know if this is still moving forward? It's still on the "Coming Soon" page of Levcor's website

I don't have any insider info, but if I had to speculate, I think the construction team running over a woman with heavy machinery probably caused the slow-down.

Is this a fun and/or well-attended event? I'm potentially interested, but would love some more info!

The only difference I see is that someone colored in the graffiti. Is any work actually being done on this?

So true. One of the "potential project" things for the City of Houston includes "removal of the Waugh offramps", so the idea is out there. But as you said, won't happen under Whitmire.

Does this mean soil testing leading to them building something? That'd be a very exciting development. It's too bad that the "Fleur-De-Waugh" right next to this location is one of the biggest wastes of land in Houston. It's extremely prime property for another park, or an addition to Buffalo Bayou Park/Spotts Park.

Honestly, I'm in favor of this move. Such a prime location and gorgeous building for a gaudy urgent care

For the uneducated, any clue what this would mean? They want to build a new wall that will be 10-feet from the street and the setback is larger than that?
