  1. I have lived in LHG for almost a year and a half, never flooded, never came close to being flooded, never pearland parkway or 35 never came close to flooding, clear creek got close but never went over its banks, All of Pearland will be under water before we flood, the beltway feeders is a different story they flood bad.

  4. Correcctamundo!

Roses is my rock of gibraltor, has been since we were teeneeboppers. I took a beating after Hurricane Alicia but kept on ticking. Remember how smashed up the area got? There was a whole house laying sideways next to Rose's from what I saw in a photo. They have the most fresh seafood and reasonable prices anywhere, thats why they rule! Anyone that is unfamiliar with the area should go to Rose's then on the way back around Maribelle's restaurant and head straight ahead along the long and winding road past all the neato beach houses keep going about 2-3 miles past the little old park on the left and turn right to go to Maas Nursery. Even though its a place that sells cool stuff and plants it is like going to a tropical paradise. Simply out of beat with time locked away from hustle and bustle. They play soothing ocean sounds as you meander around. This is the clsoset any one get to a California beach effect in this area.

On a second thought, does any one rememeber what ever became of J Larkin's wild beach club on Nasa Rd one in the 80's??? That was our major party pad then there was "Band on the Lake" at the new Hilton (now famous for running over deadbeat husband's) ala Carla Harris. Just reminicising...

We would go to larkins on fridays in the '90s for 50 cent drinks from 8-10, when all of the bartenders played in The Hunger, we would drink our fill then stumble over to Molly's and drink beer the rest of the night. Larkins got torn dowan and a Krogers I think and a strip center were rebuilt, Clear Lake has never had any really good nite life, Diggers, Betty B's, no place really last I guess molly's has been there for years

  5. My wife and i built our home in the lakes of higland glen, we really like it, its not so over built like "new" pearland, and you can jump on the beltway and be in downtown houston in 20 minutes on the weekend, our section is just about built out, when we have kids we will be in the perfect place for all the schools in pearland, the only thing i dont like is the apartment complex across old alvin, at holloween we had a bunch of people who obviosly did not live in the neghiborhood

  6. I heard the old Randal's at 518 and Pearland Parkway is going to be Conn's appliance, the Chilis is almost open, there is a strip center being built next to the Chilis, not sure what is going to be in that center yet, they also raised the speed limit on Pearland Parkway, anybody hear anything else going on? i see some new construction across from the daycares they are building on Pearland Parkway, not sure what those are going to be.

  7. Chuck, did you have any problems getting in and out of the neighborhood due to the rain earlier this week? I've been looking at possibly moving to this area. Thx!

Our 'hood was fine, it was just hard getting to it, i came in from 35 off of the Beltway, down Knapp road to Old Alvin, Pearland Parkway at the beltway was way backed up, so we went to 35 and had no problem, it was probably around 5:00. all the 'hoods inside the beltway looked flooded so there were cars all over the place and some of the feeders were flooded. I was in my tahoe so we had no problem and the water didnt look to high at 35, inside our 'hood, it looked like it was just a normal rain, not really any standing water, all of it drained off pretty quick
