    Hi Janice,

Thank you for your inquiry. Mainstreet specializes in real estate development, investments, and operations in health care across the county.

The project at the intersection of Grant/Perry Road will be a 94 bed transitional care property (70 skilled nursing + 24 assisted living). Feel free to visit our website at www.mainstreetinvestment.com for more information about us and our properties.

Please let us know if you have additional questions. Thank you

  2. At first I thought that was roadkill, but it appears to be still alive?

    Was he injured?

    Looks to be pretty well-fed.

BTW, there are/were Coyotes all over the place here. They and the other nature that still resides in the area use the creekbeds to travel.

Poor guy is losing his habitat.

roadkill, he had been dead a few days when I took the pic.

  3. The add. is the same as the old Home Depot but I believe a new building is being built to the right of the parking lot, right next door to the Chinese restaurant and Zone D Erotica. I can't understand why they built a place, "where Houston Families come to eat and play", so close to the other establishment  already there. Won't be dropping my grandchildren off at ITZ.

  4. You see another Greenspoint because this area has absolutely no restrictions. You can't build as many or as easily in Sugarland, The Woodlands, Katy, Tomball or any other incorporated area. Cypress will be headed in the same direction once the large tracts of land are all sold to home developers. What's left will become apartments or strip malls. It just kills me to see that happen.

So, the question becomes...do you run? Do you sell your home in an effort to get out before the area tanks?

Back in the '60 and '70 I didn't run when the "yankies" moved in but think I will run now. Let someone chop down all my 70 yr. old oak trees and put in a little bank here. Hunt me another place in the woods.

  5. Oopps - I meant northWEST intersection. It was Willow Chase for sure. Take a look at the link above. West of the intersection of 1960 and 249 you will see Willow Chase Drive. We entered Willow Chase Drive from 249, but I it looks different now than it did then. In fact, this is strange - look just west of Willow Chase, and you will see 'Green Mills Drive' and 'Echo Landing' - but on satelite view (or hybrid) those streets don't actually exist! I just noticed that - STRANGE INDEED! I think those may be 'remnants' of what I remember - they more closely resemble how I remember the area - as more of an empty residential subdivision (long streets with cul-de-sacs). Is there any way to know if an area was re-platted?

'Green Mills Drive' and 'Echo Landing' are new streets in a new subdivision. Hope this helps.

  6. I had a chance this weekend to drive through some of the areas I frequented while in High School in the early 80's. I remember a bunch of use used to party back in the Willow Chase area. The part I'm talking about is in the NE corner of 1960 and 249.

My question is - was this area redeveloped after 1983? I ask because - back when we used to party back there - I seem to remember it as a vacant residentail subdivision, with long streets and lots of cul-de-sacs. However, looking at the area now, it seems mostly commercial with apartments, and I don't remember the streets being layed out as they are now. What happened here? ...does anyone know any of the history?

Could you be talking about Mills Walk subdivision located between Perry and Jones?

  7. Today I saw a dead mink on the 249 feeder near the creek. I first thought it was a cat, but as I looked closer I could see it definately was a mink. java script:emoticon(':o', 'smid_16')

:o I drove on down Cypresswood and noticed the "Bird Sanctuary" sign at the back entrance to Champion Forest and I thought of the mink on 249 dead and the destruction of the deer, coyote's , and mink's habitat. No, I am not whinning. I am crying.

  8. The deforestation of NW Harris County continues...as short-sighted developers continue to sacrifice long-term value and a natural aesthetic for short-term gain. This is the rogues gallery of crummy developers. A place where we will showcase a variety of unimaginitive developments underway (and the developers behind them) in far Northwest Houston that detract from the area's natural appeal.

Another missed opportunity. Another Crummy Developer.

Congrats to developer Don Hand for winning this week's 'Golden Chainsaw'.

I agree Mr. Hand could have saved a few more trees. Another Crummy Developer. Ryland Homes at the corner of Grant and Perry, has clearcut all those acres also. The deer and wildlife in this area are roaming around looking for new homes. Watch out for deer crossing 249 as there have been a few killed on the feeder. :(

  9. We do like "this and that about our area". We moved here because it was a nice area, deed restricted and offered a quality of life that cannot be found in some other areas of Houston. All that I think most people up here ask is that if you move in to our area, follow by example. We each see value as different things.

this area used to be zip code 77040 and was called Satsuma.

  10. I found the listing for this particular property. It appears to be a 150,000 sq. foot Class A office project, 100% pre-leased. Developer is Don Hand.

It appears Don Hand is copying the same design as his Cypresswood & Cutten office project behind Perry's Steakhouse.)

I drove by that location this evening. I hope they leave many of the trees up...they've done a decent job thus far of doing select cuttings. I appreciate that. If Hand wants to do a carbon copy of his other office building, the site layout and the fact he's preserving more of the woods around his development will lessen the 'cookie-cutter' appearance and add value to the property.

Thanks, yes that is the property I have been asking about. I can't tell from the map if the property goes all the way to the church or not. I see there is a new trailer on the old Baldau land next to the church.
