I heard that the Arby's at the Pearland Town Center has closed. Supposedly there is a sign on the door. Can anyone confirm this?
Never tried it....... But wouldn't be surprised since business always seemed slow there.

I still have hope....... They should at least move a bit quicker with the Presidential Park; I understand they have all the sculptures ready so I think having all of them in place will help them attract more businesses in.
Is there a Hotel going on @ the other side of 288 across from Bass Pro?

I really like Antonio's flying pizza on Hillcroft also the Pizza from Grotto's. Star used to be a regular stop for me when lived around that area.
Nothing wrong with Double Dave's pepperoni rolls. Look forward to trying Grimaldi's.

WaterLights District still coming, say developers

Just an FYI, 70 acres is not a big enough space for a high school. If I recall Dawson on Cullen was only able to acquire 90 acres and they are building a three story school as a result. I think the current thinking is they like to have 100 acres. Dawson is a 4A school with a projected enrollment of 2,000 in four grades.
You have a point; However, I don't see them building another Junior High so close to the recently opened Nolan Ryan Jr. High since they already have land for a future Jr. High in the corner of 518 @ Kingsley. In terms of Elementary Schools, they already have 2 within SCR and there are plans/space for another 2. Time will tell.

Thanks for the info. I can see an Alvin ISD High School at that location down the road.

Anybody tried it?
It always looks quite busy, but haven't had a chance to go there yet.

I've heard a Sports Bar is coming close to Olives & Escalante's. Anybody has any info?

How did you find that?

Just passed by the site and its getting close to being clear. That's a huge chunk of land. What do yall envision being there? I see an extremely upscale midrise community right there. Makes sense.

Sorry if this has been posted somewhere else, first time I hear about it.

What's going on guys,
So here's what we've been working diligently on.. Any day now!
Great job! I will be visiting for sure.... I am a regular visitor to the area and have found myself many times around 2-4a.m. looking for a place to eat.

I've never been a fan of Kroger and having to carry a card to get discounts..... However, I've been a couple of times to the store and quite like it. Very spacious and clean. International food selection is pretty big. If you hunt for the good deals, they are pretty good (I had to get a card after what I saw and now keep it in the car).
But at the end I am an HEB Plus guy. I've never been back to Super Target after they opened, and my visits to Wal-Mart are very limited. I agree the store might be difficult to navigate, but nothing beats it for the type of shopping my household has.

I've always felt that way: Room with a View
They're insane for asking that much for those townhomes. In. Sane.
Great article Sheeats.
WOW! Almost $1M + Estimated monthly maintenance fee of $451 and HOA annual dues $200.

Ate at the WhichWich Sunday night, behind the new Denny's at the front of the Academy complex.
Never eaten at one before, and it's a pretty cool concept. They weren't busy at all, but they were kinda slow getting our sandwiches done. Maybe time/training will fix that. Staff was very friendly though.
Their House Chips are pretty darn tasty. Kinda like kettle-cooked Ruffles with seasoning on them.
Tried them today..... Not bad at all for $5 a piece. I complemented mine with a Jamba Juice.

Seems like Palais Royal has signed a lease right next to Kroger.

Business center and SC Parkway is a death trap. People are always making stupid left turns of out of bucees. Speed limit is still 45... used to be 60 of course so that's what most people are still doing. But slow down even more than that! Oh, and be smart about when you go to Bucees. I never make a left turn out of there. I always stop on the way home so it's right turn in, right turn out. And that's what I'll do until they put a stop light there.
I always have a lot of fun leaving Sonic trying to go east on SCR or leaving Bucees trying to get across to Business Center. Will be more fun once the Marketplace is open........ But there is hope, I have seen a lot of active work last few days in what seems to be the beginning work for the 288 feeders between 2234 and 518. SC Parkway work probably won't start for a while.

Probably between the On the border and Friday's, but I don't really see much room for another restaurant there.
Saw the sign today. It is actually in a pad between Friday's and the strip center next to JC Penney where Charmin Charlie's is.

Ah...this must be the one at the intersection of Hwy 288 and 518 in west Pearland...I hope.

Just heard from a inside source that Alamo Drafthouse or Studio Movie Grill wil be locating in the SE parcel of land at the Pearland Town Center.
That would be a great addition. Hope your insiders are correct!
The development next to Bass Pro (The Promenade Shops) was supossed to have a good movie theather, but who knows what will happen to that project.

We tried out Red Robin last night. The mushroom burger was great. The fries are so-so, but the basket is "bottomless" - as in, free refills. Needless to say, it would easy to gain ten pounds pretty quickly just by eating there once in awhile! All in all, a good experience.
So far, in my opinion: Red Robins > BJ's > Fish City Grill, in terms of food.
I was there last night too..... Sitting at the bar as usual. They know it will take them a bit to get the service up to speed, but in general they are doing a great job to be the first couple of days. Burger was great, but this morning I'm paying the consequences.
Cork wine is open, stopped to check the selection, and they do have a long way to go. Kitchen is not open yet, and they do not have all the beer & wine selection they have in their menu. Anyways seems like a good "upscale" bar option for some of my more affluent neighbors.
They have a boat show, great idea to use the pavillion commercially like that.

Any thoughts on which of the many Galleria area highrise condos is the best in terms of the location, amenities, views of the city, etc?
I am including soon to be built buildings like Titan and Turnberry in this, not just already build condos.
I appreciate any thoughts/opinions?
I rented an apartment at 1200 Post Oak for 2 years before moving to Pearland.... Loved the location and amenities of the place; So if budget is not a problem I would go for the same area with same type of amenities at
