I remember the smurfs. We lived in Alief around this time. We found this HUGE drainage tunnel under the Sam Houston Tollway and Brays Bayou. They were said to have their lair in there. We took flashlights and walked in. No sign of the smurfs but about 300 yards in was an amazing spray paint mural of Houston and a surfer and some other art. Wish cell phones existed then. I would have pics. I wonder who did that mural?
