In 1969 I was 17 years old and got busted for underage drinking. Got booked into City jail. Next day they transported to another location. This place was called the P Farm. P for prisoner. It was a City jail meant for people to work for for their fines. They would take us out to various parts of the City to clean lots and do yard work. The fine was reduced everyday we went to work. Peanut butter or bologna sandwiches. Bull Durham to smoke. What happened to these places and why they don’t bring them back.
