  1. None of it is....its an economy car.

Your RX-7 runs low 14's stock at best if its turbo & stick, with you driving probably not even that good. If you want to see an economy car, I'll be more than happy to run you at HMP any Friday night...

PM me for a date with your little rotary.

  2. How much was your HID conversion? I've been looking to convert mine to HID, right now I only have silverstars, but when I checked it was in the price zone of about $500.

I can get you a plug & play HID kit for around $350. PM me if interested.

  4. Hey MetroMatt, is that metallic paint? I think metallic is the one that changes color.

The color is called Electron Blue Pearl, & yes it changes colors from a bright metallic blue in direct sunlight, to a deep purplish tint in low light.

  5. I didn't remember the spoiler on his being that obnoxious.....ohwell.  Those wheels certainly aren't stock.

The wing on my car is the factory Si wing. The wheels are forged aluminum racing wheels, which means they weight almost half of what the factory ones weight & are many times stronger. My Civic is far from being "riced out"

  6. One thing that contributes to Houston's dull night skyline is the height restriction for corporate names & logos on top of buildings. I find that to be so rediculous in Houston of all places, the billboard capital of the world. Dallas on the other hand, which has a beaufitul night skyline has neon & corporate names illuminated on top of most all buildings in the city.

On a side note, I was driving by downtown at night last weekend & noticed the ExXon building, which several months ago during the Astros play offs had changed their white "christmas" lights to blue, are now white again. So much for being different...

  7. My favorite Houston buildings at night:

    1. Williams Tower - its bright rotating beacon sweeping over the Uptown skyline which can be seen all over the city.

    2. Reliant Energy Plaza - the color changing vertical lights on top

    3. Continental Center - the blue Continental logo being projected on top

    4. Bank of America - the up lights look very fitting for this gothic design, not too bright, but still show off the sharp-pointed "steps"

    5. Wedge International Tower - green neon lit top, but wish it was still completely outlined like BOA in Dallas

    6. Wells Fargo Plaza - white neon lit top

    7. Centerpoint Energy Plaza - circle of white lights inside its "top hat" look very futuristic

    8. 1500 Louisiana - also a very futurustic lighting scheme on top.

    9. Exxon Mobil Tower - brownie points for changing the dull yellow lights to blue ones.

    10. Chase Tower - the same dull looking yellow lights used on many Houston buildings doesn't do much for me, especially on the tallest building in Houston & the state of Texas, but it does make the building clearly visible from far away due to its enormous height. Its weird though, sometimes the lights on top aren't even lit for months, then suddenly its all lit up again....

  8. Well actually we do, but they require special care at first, lots of nurturing, and far and few between.  I think its one of the funniest looking things having lots of Live Oaks, Maples, Sweet Gums, Cotton Woods and then BAM there's a Palm tree looking out of place.

Yeah, those palm trees don't exactly look at home planted in that black North Texas praire soil.

  9. I would say that Las Colinas is very similiar to Westchase District or Energy Corridor.  The Galleria area is basically the same as Houston's, sans the Transco as I still call it.  You also have other clusters of buildings just like you will find in any other major city.

The Dallas Galleria skyline doesn't even begin to compare with Houston's Uptown/Galleria skyline. Is this a joke or something?

    Dallas Galleria skyline:

    3 Galleria Tower - 354 ft

    1 Galleria Tower - 331 ft

    2 Galleria Tower - 325 ft

    The Westin - 22 floors

    Houston Uptown/Galleria skyline:

Williams Tower - 901 ft (21 ft shorter than Dallas' tallest skyscraper)

San Felipe Plaza - 625 ft

Marathon Oil Tower - 562 ft

    Four Leaf Towers I - 444 ft

Four Leaf Towers II - 444 ft

    Aon Tower - 420 ft

Mercer West Tower - 400 ft

    1200 Post Oak - 359 ft

    BHP Tower - 351 ft

Wells Fargo Tower - 351 ft

Dominion Post Oak - 351 ft

    The Mark - 349 ft

    Galleria I - 333 ft

    Montebelo - 331 ft

The list goes on with many more 200-300 footers in the vicinity...
