  1. I doubt that included the evacuees. Even if it did, we don't have 100000 of them.

As far as Houston becoming a "chocolate city". Houston has alot of African Americans, Hispanic's and of course Caucasians, so it already is a "chocolate city". I think Houston has the largested amount of college educated African Americans' in an big city in the US, ( I know I have seen some study before that reported that, probably msnbc or something).

  2. Humble Tower Apartments are really nice and most of all secure. I have been there about 1.5 years. If you want to rent downtown go for it. Now is the time; night life is pretty fun here. They are a bit on the $$$ side, but they are worth it. Nice lofts and apartments, actually has a pool (mostly for sunbathers), not a diving pool. But they are one of the few buildings that have one.

Anywhere you are going to live downtown is going to be noisy. You will get used to it fast. I have been born and raised in the suburbs, but always slept with my tv on, since I have lived downtown I don't have to, LOL.

  3. I have lived in Humble Tower (Dallas and Main) now for about a year and a half. Its pretty good. Staff is awesome!!.

Only three downsides. The parking Garage, is made for small cars, not SUV friendly. And it is very noisy, but hey you are gonna live downtown, anywhere you live will be noisy. Last but not least, THEY NEED TO MOVE THE BUS STOPS away from the entrance of the hotel and Humble Towers, I really don't like having to push my way threw that croud just to go jogging.

I pay 1040 for 800sq feet loft syle apartment. Well worth it. Everything you expect and more. There is a pool on the roof, which is pretty busy on the weekends with everyone laying out. They have a small gym, but the manager is working on getting everyone free gym memberships to a nearyby gym (only like three blocks away). There is a STARBUCKS going in right next door to the entrance of the building.

GREAT PLACE to live. Very secure and safe. AND will be right next door to THE PAVILIONS. /cheer.

  4. One thing those pics don't show are the mass bus stops on the corners with people standing there....and the disgusting loud busses that are waiting to pounce on people as soon as they walk across the street.

One more thing (at the bottom of the list I am sure) that needs to be improved are how loud those busses are and the how they are driven.

They have not began to move dirt yet, there are still parking lots there.

  5. I think this is great for downtown. Right now I live downtown, but I don't really shop downtown (Randall's and CVS are the only shops I goto and Foley's on occasion, only cause I live next door).

Only one bad thing about this. They are building it right next door to me :huh::huh: Hopefully they won't be doing construction late at night.

BUT ITS AWESOME its on its way.

ALSO note, it looks like they are almost finished with the last part of BAYOU PLACE Downtown. Should bee seeing new stores over there soon as well.

Can't wait for an AMC to come downtown.
