How about the Atlanta plan where you include 30 counties in your metro area to reach 5.1 M

Why not lets do the Atlanta plan and add Austin and San Antonio to the Houston metro area along with Beaumont, Lake Charles and the Bryan College Stations area.

Austin is a snobbish town. I know San Francisco, I lived in San Francisco and Austin is no San Francisco. At the end of the day Houston is the best city in Texas. San Antonio is another booming area to keep your eye on. If we live in Atlanta remember that San Antonio and Austin would be part of the Houstom metro

San Antonio is a mix of German, Polish, ASian and Hispanics. San Antonio is diverse becasue of the many military base there and people from all over the world settleing there

Atlanta metro area has so many counties so its metro figures are skewed. maybe San Antonio and Austin metro area should merge too. Houston should also add Beaumont and the Lake Charles area

Dallas is the financail cneter of Texas but beyond that it is not a pretty or interesting city. Ft Worth has more character and Dallas seems very plastic. Houston and San Antonio are diverse and very interesting cities to visit.
